Finally got my hands on this lens and I love it. My initial impression is that the autofocus doesn't seem any worse than the 24-70 GM even with fast and erratic subjects. The only downside is that it gets limited FPS on the A1 (seems between 10 ~ 15?), but that's still good enough for my usage.

How many of you have sold off your primes in favor of this lens? I have the Sigma 45mm 2.8, Sony 55mm 1.8, and Sony 85mm 1.8. Would you sell off these lenses in favor of the Tamron?

haven't sold any of my primes since getting this lens because all of my primes dose their own thing, I have 24GM, 50GM, and Sigma 105 f1.4, this lens to me is just a much much better 70-200 replacement.

I sold my Sony FE35/1.8 and 24-70GM for this lens and have no regrets. I still have the FE55 and 85 thought they both get rarely used but I do occasionally use them on the A1 when I want a lightweight combo with the Leica Q2.I think if size and weight are not an issue for you then to live without the 55 and 85 would not be a problem. As you can see here this is an extremely competent and versatile lens
