When I look through some of the images captured with this lens, it strikes me as an all-around 135mm lens with autofocus. Essentially, it's flawless in terms of resolution, contrast, and aberration control, yet it still manages to remain fairly compact and light. This lens could be my go-to telephoto solution, as I could use it for everything, including sports in good light and portraits with some post-processing to dial down some of that perfection.

And it has OSS! It's been somewhat overshadowed by new shiny objects, but it really is a marvel of a lens.

How's the sample variation of this Batis?
(or did you simply repurchase what you sold? )
I will get it today but my experience is great in regards to copy variation. I believe I tried at least 3 copies and they performed similarly and were all centered.
I just received the Batis 135/2.8 and took it for a walk around the neighborhood today. Honestly, I regret selling it in the first place. I adore its ability to control color aberration and its high contrast, along with its pleasing rendering. The lens is so well corrected that it has a character of its own!
Focusing is so quiet and the lens' image stabilization helps a lot. I've forgotten how light it was even with the hood.

Good showing! Welcome back. Of the Zeiss Batis, the Batis 135 is IMO, crème de la crème.
Fred, you bought mine years ago. I have bought and sold this lens a coupe times since then, and just bought one back again few days ago after I saw this tread!
