Despite the May 28, 2021 date, it was cold (40°F windchills) in an area of our backyard near Chicago, Illinois, USA. However, if you looked hard, the life and growth continued as captured by the Batis 135, in lieu of the raw weather.
regular morning hike in the forest with my dog this am .. she is older and really slow going uphill so I checked the B&S board since I have been waiting for this lens to appear. Lucked out and got Fred's so i'll have to contribute some images in the future
So this whole thread was started to sell his lens? (Never looked at the B&S forum)
Does anyone know whether he replaced it with the GM?

What?? I started an image thread for the Batis 135/2.8 because we didn't have one. I've used it since it was announced.
Yes, I just got the 135/1.8 GM and that's why I sold the Batis.

Lol—wow. Sour grapes. You do realize Fred’s lenses always sell pretty rapidly as they are typically tested, well centered in great cosmetic condition and fairly priced? And he sells all sorts of gear without a thread started for it.

:-)
I'm making an adjustment to my gear though. My backup camera is now a A7R2 and the main reason is the smooth reflections app support. I've also reduced my native primes to only those I use all the time. Of course I'm still adapting many M-lenses to Sony, Leica M and Leica SL as well.

What are you keeping on Sony side @Fred Miranda? A lot of my "rendering" quests on Sony started with your image threads.

I have a similar set up—A7r2 (resolution) + A7c (travel + AF). What primes are you using nowadays? And did you rid yourself of gear or just make room for growing m-mount gear?

As far as native lenses, I will keep the FE 24/1.4 GM, CV 50/1.2, FE 135/1.8 GM and Sigma 100-400.
I may also sell my Sigma 14-24/2.8 (optimal copy) for a smaller prime instead. I still love my Voigt 15/4.5 III M so that may be enough for my needs.

For my needs on an A7R4 the CV 15 & 24 GM are usually enough for me...although a sharp 14-24 gives a lot of flexibility if you have situations where that's more important than form-factor or other advantages the CV gives you (sunstars etc.).
I'm still curious to hear about your GFX adventures

I had the 135GM and got some amazing photos of a mountain Lion on our deck at 1:30am but been trying to stay with lighter options and 2.8 on the newer Sony bodies is fast enough for any low light i will shoot.
Loved the smooth reflections app on my previous A7R2. Enjoying the A7C with the flip screen for lower perspective shots and closeups and smaller size and weight. Everything has some compromise

I didn't get to try the GFX yet but it's on my list. :-) I am playing with the Leica SL system right now and will be checking if it has better compatibility with M lenses. (compared to other mirrorless cameras). One thing is for sure: Their 75/2 APO is marvelous in resolution and rendering. (at any distance)
I still shoot mainly Sony but as many of you know I'm not tied to any brand.
