FWIW, there was at least one unspoken for one at Map Camera in Tokyo, which i nabbed. (At 1:00 pm Friday 5/28)
In first testing, it seems as good as the reviews claimed. I couldn't get sharp corners out of (my copy of) the CV 15/4.5 at any f stop, but the Sony 14/1.8 coughs up surprisingly sharp corners at f/1.8 and seriously sharp ones stopped down. It may not be perfect, but if there's strong contrast (e.g. text or a test chart) the corners look fine. Maybe a tad weak if the subject matter is low contrast. But it looks like I'll be able to live with this. It's (almost) rainy season here, but if the weather's good tomorrow, I'll snap a few of the usual suspects in my neighborhood with it.

I called yesterday and was told by B&H that my preorder would not ship until next Friday so I ordered from Unique Photo, and yep, I woke up, getting ready to call B&H, saw and email and . . .. you guessed it, they shipped it today. So I called them, and told them I just talked to them yesterday and was getting ready to call and cancel. They understood and will reimburse once they get the 14 back. No charges for shipping etc. The one from Unique should be here in a few hours.
On the snap in Kase filter, I find it very easy to take in and out of my cameras. It takes a few cleanings by the lens/sensor pen to get them cleaned off. The night filter was really dusty, I mean bad. I don't understand this.

Awesome Fred- hopefully you get a good copy. I am hoping to use this - if it tests well with coma - for a shoot on June 5th.

The order I placed yesterday from unique arrived today. My kase light polution filter also arrived..... as someone else stated either here or in another thread, my filter came looking like someone handled it with powdered gloves (or powdered donuts). Other than that, it fits both the a1 and the a7c quite well. A little nerve wracking to install on the a1 with the mech shutter closed. I'll be ordering the ND set now that I know it will all work.

Why the shutter down? I got the night light filter and it was dusty as hell. I called Kase to let the manager there know. She said they would contact the manufacture in China.

I keep the shutter closed when the camera is off, don't feel like changing it just for the filter. Its a non issue as long as you don't put it in wrong.

Received mine from Adorama this morning. So far really like the feel on my A1 and A7R4. It just seems impossibly small for a 14mm f/1.8 lens! I'll do a good centering test tomorrow hopefully before the rain comes.

I see. I haven't tried the option for that. Well, there are many things I have tried. Learning on a Leica IIIC with no meter and using transparency film so many years ago, has kept me simple.
