I get what Dustin had on his mind when he said it, sometimes you get this kind of unsharp (but focused) picture which looks like it's been moved but I guess it's a combination of aberrations (or just astigmatism?) in that point of the frame that gives that impression...
Ok, you made me watch the video.
It looks like he does not have an optimal copy. That drastic drop in resolution/contrast around the outer center area does not look like lens aberration, especially astigmatism. Either way, imo, motion blur is definitely a confusing term when describing a lens' characteristic.
I've enjoyed the review though.

I referred to it as "motion blur" not motion blur in the original post as the reviewer made the original statement in the video. I did not know how to describe it really and agree it is confusing.. Just seemed so bizarre and not sure why it was not more of a concern to the reviewer.

We all know how bad information spreads so quickly online. It's very likely this fine prime will be labeled as having "motion blur" on SAR and dpreview very soon!
To be sure, I'm getting one for review and will be checking on that MB.

I know it sounds strange, but I think I saw some other review where a similar phenomenon was observed on this lens (maybe it was coma test on lenstip?).

Coma and astigmatism are off-axis aberrations though.

Interesting. Isn’t coma on axis? You’d only actually measure it on the plane of focus when focused optimally on the star or light source.
If you watch the video, the issue referred as 'motion blur' was seeing around the center area and coma is an aberration which causes rays from an off-axis point of light in the object plane.

150mm filters are absolutely gigantic. They are much bigger than even cinema filters. I think I am going to go with rear Haida filters when they eventually come out. A box of rear filters takes up as much space in my bag as a small lens but a Nisi system with 150mm filters takes up a third of my bag.
I wonder if Haida will come out with an option to just purchase the rear lens filter holder without the 4 filters for those of us who already have a Haida rear lens filter set for a different lens.
I have the Haida filter set and rear lens filter holder for the Sony 12-24. I don't want two sets of filters when I really only need the rear lens filter holder for the 14GM lens.

Based on the video review-- sounded like Haida is making a new product for the 14mm lens.. because the reviewer stated when available. He did have a set and shows it on the video but it sounded like will need to have a separate set. I hope I am wrong

For the drone enthusiasts, Sony has just released an update video on their upcoming Airpeak drone with field testing of a A7SIII with the new 14mm f1.8GM lens mounted. Pretty spectacular footage! The Airpeak will be able to accommodate all the current Alpha bodies, including the A7RIV, A9's and new A1!
Info about the drone and compatible bodies and lenses:
direct link to the drone movie, make sure to set YT to HD:

Edit: In the 2nd half of the video they fly the drones over a waterfall, while the approach shot may have been the 14mm GM, the downward angle shots of the waterfall and rainbow in the waterfall were taken with the 20mm G. It has a screw mounted ND and/or CPL mounted, the other drone takes a video of the 20 G lens pointing downward at 1:34 and the screw-on filter is clearly seen. The 14mm GM did not have any filters attached. Probably the beautiful reef scene where you can see the bottom (1:10-1:16) is also the 20G with a filter, as you need a ND/CPL filter to get these types of shots on a bright day.

Decided to order one and let go of my 16-35mm GM. I have the 35mm GM, a 20mm 1.8 as well. When I had my Sigma 14-24mm I pretty much stayed on 14-16mm. After watching reviews and researching it the 14mm GM sounds and looks great.

Alex, I'm thinking of maybe doing the same thing. I'm preordering the 14mm GM as well. I had the Sigma 14-24 and liked it a lot except for the flare issues when shooting with the sun in the frame, which I tend to like to do a lot. So I bought the Sony 12-24 f/2.8 GM mainly for the better flare performance and the get the extra 2mm on the wide end as a bonus. But I also have the Sony 20mm f1.8 G and the Sony 35mm GM and now I'm thinking of getting the 14mm f/1.8 GM and selling the 12-24 GM. The overall weight of the 14 GM + 20 G is nearly the same as the weight of the 12-24 GM so it will not provide any lower weight in the bag but will be a nicer hand holding on the camera experience. I can see it being a much better option for travel shooting and it will be great for Astro and night shooting. I don't think I will miss the extra 2mm on the wide end as I always felt 14mm to 24mm was the sweet spot for my ultra-wide photography and the combo of 14mm and 20mm f/1.8 primes should adequately fulfill that need. I will have to consider the benefit of having a zoom when you can't move back for a particular shot and need a wider focal length. However, I'm shooting with an Alpha1 plus an A7R4 so being able to crop between say a 14mm and 20mm perspective is really not too much of an issue even when looking at making large prints. In essence, these larger megapixel cameras allow a bit of zooming with the right combination of prime focal lengths. The other downside is the need to change lenses from one prime to another instead of just keeping the zoom on the camera. The A1 has made that a little better with the shutter closing to protect the sensor during lens changes. I really wish the A7R4 could also do that as well. My landscape kit would now be the 14mm GM, 20mm G, 35 GM Sigma 65 DG DN, and 100-400 GM.
I have a full set of Kase clip on filters. I believe Fred said that the quality on these filters are quite good. I haven't had the time to test my set yet with the Sigma 14-24. But I'll report back when I have done the test.

The clip-on filters' performance is identical to Kase's drop-in (lens) filters which is the best one available. (thinnest without color deviation). So, yes, the problem of filtering is solved for me with the new Kase clip-on filters. Since it works for all lenses, when I need the ND effect, I can just add it and switch lenses in the field without having to worry about. Just use my lenses bare with their hoods.

Thanks, Fred and @hiepphotog. There are some written reviews stating that the STC clip filters have a color cast, but the handful of video reviews don't mention it. The Kase filters look like a great option, though, and slightly cheaper than the STC ones.

Colors are neutral with the clip-on and drop-in Kase filters. (It's actually the same Schott glass, including the same thickness)
The main difference is that the clip-ons are 'framed' so they won't break which is not the case with Kase's drop-in filters.
The differential for the Kase filters is the 0.3m thickness which causes minimal induced field curvature. They don't alter ghosting/veiling flare either. The Haida glass filters for example are almost twice as thick as the Kase's and therefore cause issues especially with ultra wide angle lenses when shooting at wide apertures.
Gel/film filters have the thinnest thickness (0.1m) but are prone to flare and loss of contrast depending on strength. All brands I've tested, cause strong color cast.
