There is no R/L eye selection for birds but then again I've yet to get that to work for me on the R5....I think we will be okay without that feature

Here's another question...do we know what lenses can handle 30fps?
There was a little star next to 30fps in the promo video, so you know there are disclaimers in tiny letters at the bottom ,but I don't know what they are. I remember when A9 came out, there were only few lenses that could do 20fps, there was a list, some could do 15fps, and some were on 10fps list.

Ugh they’re really twisting my arm with this, the R5 is great but I liked shooting with the a9 more. Trying to decide if that experience is worth the premium...

even DPReview and BH were not in the early reviewers, to me it sound like something to completely contain leaks or due to COVID they had to change plans
From the announcement livestream it kinda sounded like they could not even hire a voice over person, and instead used a computer generated voice.

I think when it says "select the bird to be tracked" just means initiate RTT on the bird like we do for animals already. There is no way you would have to go in and select "finch" or "eagle"...
That's the next version. You select what type of bird you want to shoot, the camera automatically scans the environment using a motorized tripod for that bird, finds it, focuses on the eye and tracks it while shooting at 30 fps...all the while you can be sitting in your living room getting the images transferred to your computer.

"9.44m-dot resolution with .90x magnification and a 240 fps refresh rate"
I'm not in the market, but I'd love to check one out just to see what that looks like!
Also wondering if it will have that jello wobble effect in low light like my Z7 has when using manual lenses.

I'm up for an A1 and will pre-order tomorrow.
Will be selling the A7r4, which is a no brainer.
Question is whether it matches A9ii for noise at high ISO? The smaller A1 pixels should be noisier in low light, as I cant see how the improved processor can fix that.
Interesting times for sure

I’m guessing the buffer clearing won’t be too bad seeing as the cards are super fast, also it’s finally got *lossless compression*, so the files will probably be half the size.

Basically everything I wanted except the full size body. Like davidnumrich said, I sure hope the buffer clears quickly. Especially given what those cards cost. Painful.

It's a .EDU trap! You can't be a student with 6.5K of disposable income.
Already having an A9 and A7RIV, it would be nice to just take one camera with me that can serve both purposes. $6.5K is not out of the realm of reachability, but it will take some saving of discretionary funds - maybe this will be my Christmas present.
Hey, when I was in university a pizza on a Friday night was a big treat.
