I ordered on April 8 from Adorama. Just got the notice that it is processing for shipment. This would seem to indicate that supply is catching-up to demand.
I hope I do not regret selling my Sigma 35mm f1.2. . The rendering from that lens is really special. Worst case, is where I buy another used Sigma then use it for critical/artistic work and use the Sony for street and travel. Hopefully, I will not feel the need to have both lenses.
I ordered from Adorama on 4/8 as well. Just went and checked my account.

Order is being processed for shipping!
My 4/14/21 order with Adorama just switched to shipped (although not scanned into the UPS system yet), so it sounds like stock is arriving and moving at Adorama. My fingers are crossed it gets delivered before my weekend at Great Sand Dunes NP. My B&H order still shows backordered, Best Buy still says preparing for pickup on April 27th, and my February 26 order with Amazon still says May 9-June 14. The 50GM is too $$$ for me, but based on this experience, I'd definitely place a pre-order with Adorama if I wanted the 50GM sooner rather than later.

Just out of curiosity - what would the Sigma 35/1.4 have to be to get you to buy that over the Sony version? Arguing with myself about whether to wait for it to be announced before purchasing a 35...

For me personally, I have little doubt that the Sigma will likely be on par with the GM in sharpness and probably at least $400 cheaper. I doubt that the AF and flare performance will be better than the GM. For me to wait to choose it, it would need better flare performance and sunstars than the GM, and since I doubt the Sigma will best the GM in flare resistance or AF, I went ahead and pulled the trigger for the GM. That being said, I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a buried fear that right after my return window expires Sigma will come out with the 1.4 and watch it have better rendering, bokeh, sunstars, flare resistance, etc. Unlikely, but possible. It really seems like Sony pulled out all the stops with the 35GM based on the images posted by those that have it. Mind you, I see the irony of saying that about a lens that is being released more than 2 months late because of QC issues.
I personally wish that Sigma had pursued a 50 1.4 before a 35 1.4, considering they already have the f/1.2 and f/2 lenses, both of which are great.

Jared Polin making a video saying don't buy the GM, buy the Sigma instead. Seems like the strong cases for the Sigma are 50% of the price, at least 95% of the functionality, and maybe correcting some problem the Sony had. To me it looks like the Sony 35GM got too much right. I don't see what sigma would dramaticly improve on besides price.
I like sigma, but did not cancel my GM pre-order to see what the sigma has to offer. My GM shipped and will arrive Wednesday. Of course I will test it for myself when it arrives.

I've placed an order from B&H today, April 20, due to the wait for Playboo card. The status is backordered. Hopefully, the wait isn't too long. I need it by late May.

So I got frustrated with yet another delay on Amazon - based on the posts here I decided to place orders at BH and Adorama and see if they could get me the lens before the mid-May estimate from Amazon. That was this morning - I got a shipping notification from Adorama 2 hrs later. It should be here tomorrow. I'm kind of in shock (still half expecting there's some mixup and they're not actually shipping the 35GM). Provided there isn't some snafu, I guess I'll be canceling my amazon order from February. Can't believe Amazon was that far behind - not sure I'll ever be doing a preorder with them again.

Well we now have the pricing from Nokishita at $899.

I ordered from a local camera shop and am a bit surprised it still hasn't come in. Usually that strategy works pretty well with high demand items. Oh well, what's a few more weeks...
It definitely does hurt that about 37 other lenses have been announced in the interim

I ordered from Best Buy today and its supposed to be here Thursday. We shall see. Maybe Sony is starting to catch up with the demand.

@Alex W - Hope so too. That said, I'm shocked that Amazon is pushing their old preorders back while everyone else seems to be getting stock. Either they had WAY more preorders than everyone else or someone at amazon royally screwed the pouch and they got way less inventory allocated to them vs other retailers.

Per Nokishita, the specifications of the Sigma "35mm F1.4 DG DN | Art" are:
- 15 elements in 11 groups
- minimum shooting distance of 30cm
- maximum shooting magnification of 1: 5.4
- number of aperture blades of 11
- filter diameter 67mm
- size φ75.5x109.5mm (The E-mount version is 111.5mm)
- weighs 645g (E-mount version is 640g)
So we will have to wait and see on performance, but the Sony GM is smaller and lighter for a $500 premium.

I also did the shotgun approach and my Adorama order, which was ordered last night, is showing “Processing” and “ In Progress - we're preparing your order for shipment.”
I cancelled my B&H order but kept my order with another smaller shop. We’ll see which ships fastest. The only free shipping option with Adorama was Super Saver 7-10 days.

For what it's worth, I did the Super Saver also, and UPS Ground appears to be pretty fast at the moment. I ordered 4/14. Shipping notification 4/19. It is supposed to arrive 4/22. Not bad for free shipping. I've kept two other backordered orders open just in case there's an issue with the lens. Sounds like every owner here so far has had a remarkable copy, so hoping Sony knocked it out of the park regarding centering and variation.

So the new Sigma 35/1.4 will be the size/weight of the old Distagon. The GM is quite a bit smaller and lighter (96mm long and 524g).
