p.95 #4 · Pre-order: Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM ($1,399)
It could be nothing, but my pre-order placed on 2/20 just went to “processing” this morning. Based on other’s comments that’s a good sign that B&H got a new shipment in, but I could be jumping the gun as i’m not super clear on what processing indicates.

I think you're right. My in-store pickup preorder just changed to shipped and they charged my card. I suspect I'll get a pickup notice today or tomorrow and, since I was pretty late to the party, most of the other preorders will be sorted for shipping soon. Happy snapping, everyone!

And my B&H order just changed to "Order in Progress"

I had placed three preorders - one with Adorama, one with B&H and one with Allen’s Camera in PA. I’ve been trying to support more local businesses, but Allen’s hasn’t yet received any 35 GMs at all so I cancelled that order. My orders from Adorama and B&H arrived last week with my Adorama order arriving first. I never even opened the box from B&H. I was going to return it but if anyone would like it I would sell it for exactly what I paid in the sealed shipping box from them and email a copy of the original invoice. I wouldn’t mind helping out a fellow FM member. ...Show more →
Thanks for the offer! I also had about $400 in BB gift cards towards it. Plus I'm in Canada which would set me back in duties as well.
I'm sure someone stateside would appreciate the offer!

Thanks for the feedback. Good to hear it handles well! I also use a base plate on my a7c. The weight to me is a concern - it's surprisingly heavy on the specs - but lens seems to be a notch above the 40mm f2.5 and I also have the 28-60mm which is my good enough lens for the A7C. I'm thinking of a "lightweight" 20mm, 35 or 40mm, 85mm type kit.
I have two Samyang lenses: the 35/1.8 and the 75/1.8. Both are very good, a little different but good. Check specifications and reviews... maybe part of your kit can be found with these lenses?
Then the CV 21/3.5 may cover the ultra wide end?
Anyway, good luck with everything! Lightweight and good doesn't always come together.

My Amazon pre-order was supposed to be delivered Wednesday. Just got notice that it’s pushed back 2-3 weeks. Ordered back in early/mid Feb. At this rate I might get my 50mm GM pre-order from B&H before this lens. Ugh 🤦🏼♂️😒

Not saying that GM is bad or anything, but I prefer the Bigma images in direct comparison with the GM. Smooth rendering and Bokeh of Bigma are just more pleasing to my eyes. Is it worth having 2x the weight? I don't know. I am still deciding.
For people still trying to get GM, it looks like you will have a better luck, if you put in an order now with BH than waiting on Amazon and Best Buy for another month or so. This week I was extremely lucky to get the most high demand Sony product ever: Playstation 5. It seemed impossible, but it happened. Your GM will ship too.

My order, placed on April 5th at B&H, went to "Order in Progress" yesterday (Sunday) but today it is now "Processing" and they have put a pending charge on my Payboo card. Most likely it will ship in the next couple of days!!
Edit: Shipped that same afternoon with 2 day FedEx delivery scheduled for Wed. the 21st.
I used to have the Sigma 35 1.2 but sold it when I moved to the Leica SL2 and APO Summicron-SL 35mm. Now I have the 35GM with the alpha 1. Your examples show something I definitely noticed when I had the Sigma - there is a very apparent amber color cast, especially when comparing it to the GM.

I ordered on April 8 from Adorama. Just got the notice that it is processing for shipment. This would seem to indicate that supply is catching-up to demand.
I hope I do not regret selling my Sigma 35mm f1.2. . The rendering from that lens is really special. Worst case, is where I buy another used Sigma then use it for critical/artistic work and use the Sony for street and travel. Hopefully, I will not feel the need to have both lenses.

Weird, I never noticed any color cast on the Bigma. Slightly different colors sure, but nothing like SY85 for example...
Anyway, since there's a lot talk of 35i vs the new GM and subsequently the "need" for f1.4, here's a sample shot on a sunny day from a fairly close distance (somewhere between 0.5m and 1m, exif says 0.6m), both shots from the GM:
Aperture f/2 Exposure Time 0.0005s (1/2000) ISO 100
Aperture f/1.4 Exposure Time 0.00025s (1/4000) ISO 100
This time no processing, SooC (with some in-camera settings of course) jpeg. Sure, the bright sun accentuates blurred outlines and bokeh balls, but I'd say the difference is noticeable when focusing that close.
