Its a G lens. Wasn’t it supposed to be a GM?
GM lenses have G written on them in orange i think.
Could it be 16/1.8 G?
I think if it was the 16 1.8 it would definitely have a differently shaped hood. Seems likely that it's the 35 or 100 GM that's been rumored for so long.
Also I'm not sure from that low quality screen grab that we can be sure it's a G and not a GM.

Take this with a huge grain of salt, but I asked my local Sony store retailer to alert me when the new 35 GM becomes available for ore-order and they said they don’t expect shipment until June. Then backtracked and said actually there has been no announcement yet and they will let me know when it becomes official. I have no idea how much they actually know about this beforehand. So again, it may just be them speculating. But perhaps they would know that there are no shipments imminently planned.

I saw the video. To me it looks like a G. Sony mount circle ⭕️ is orange as well as R on camera but not the G. Possibly it became white when they blurred it.
If its a 35/1.4 its quite small without the hood. As expected. Looks line i will end up owning 4 35’s eventually. Sigma f2, FE, this and CV SE

Watch the actual video, it's clearly the colored GM logo not the G.

My 24mm f/1.4 GM lens badge has a very iridescent orange that is very very obviously missing from the pictured lens. However, there is clearly an orange tinge to the logo in the shot. I don’t think it matters because this is likely a preproduction lens.

Disappointingly and unsurprisingly for f1.4, this looks like a Batis 40mm shaped and size lens. Lots of options available at 35mm but still looking for the perfect compact 35mm lens.

Sigma's new 35/2 is pretty compact. Or Voigtlander's if you don't mind MF

Yeah the Sigma is definitely on the list but I think I'll wait and see what the 35mm f1.4 brings before making a purchase decision. I don't mind a larger 35mm lens that's still smaller than the Sigma 35mm f1.2 (tried that and I think it's far too big for a 35mm lens).
One thing to note on the G vs GM debate for this lens - from my experience, the GM lens hoods all have the little notch that's pictured whereas I don't believe that's true on any of the Sony G lens hoods on lenses I've used.

Background around G looks more orange in my own screenshot. So I think it is GM. Filter size and MFD makes it distinct from 24GM. Hood shape and size fits about 35 to 50mm focal length. Front element is not oversized given filter size and space between filter thread and lens. It will have some cats eye bokeh in corners if it is f/1.4. I do not think it could be wider aperture.

If this is the 35mm GM I find it far from dissapointing. I also would say you will never find a "perfect compact 35mm" at 1.4 and AF if you think this is too big. I have the CV 35mm 1.2 if I want small but again if this is the GM it looks great. Slightly smaller than the Zeiss as hoped and still 67mm. That's a win for me. Take my money

I fast forwarded to 11:11 minutes and listened. Next week they will have a comparison of high res bodies. Maybe the blurred out lens will be revealed by then. The other camera bodies all seemed to have zooms attached to them.

Next video they will blur out the a9R
