Some shots of our cat acting as a model for a lifestyle product shoot: cat food bowls from a fun designer called "Calamityware." I used the R5 with 28-70 and 85mm f/2 Macro for these and the subject tracking was critical to getting the shots. Below the cat images I have a few of the product itself I took with my Sony system for those who are curious.

Shot posted earlier, but reworked in Silver Efex Pro. Starburst is best at f22. f32 is soft but f22 is very doable.

Thanks Julius! I shot at f5.6, f6.7, f8, f11, f22 and f32. The sweet spot is somewhere between f5.6 and f6.7. The best starburst effect is f22. Diffraction is quite apparent at f32.

Nice shot. Did you desaturate the barn or foreground in photoshop or is it really that gray?

Thanks! I'm not using Fred's site to host these...they're served from my site, so the forum software won't read the EXIF and display it. That said, EXIF is intact on all of them, so if you get an EXIF plugin for your browser, it's as easy as right clicking. I use xIFr on Firefox and Exif Viewer Pro on Chrome. All of the shots from today are at ISO 100, tripod mounted. Generally shot between f/11 and f/16, depending on the depth of field needed.

Looks very warm out there Jman...I'm sure you jumped right in to cool off.

I played with the tone curve a little to better separate the barn from the owl.

How do you get those "critter's" to pose on all those "exotic: burl's?

Hi Sy...

That's actually a product shot for a local taxidermist.

Seriously however, I live across the street from several square miles of land preserve that is pretty rich in local wildlife. The burls and cactus skeletons are scattered around the area and make for some interesting perch material.

A little bit of everything. And I mean everything.
There's a reason I didn't take any low angle water level shots at this location a few weeks back.

R5 with Sigma 135mm f/1.8 Art. I picked up the 135/1.8 yesterday, used but in mint condition, and like the two previous examples of this lens I've tried out, it is absolutely phenomenal. Still likely the best overall lens I've ever mounted to any camera. Even after shooting with it for two weeks when I reviewed it two years ago, plus some extra time here and there with other copies, I am utterly astonished by the image quality every time I offload images with this lens. It is about as close to optical perfection as I've ever seen in a lens. Absolutely pin-sharp to the extreme corners from f/1.8, beautiful bokeh, lovely color and contrast, no real distortion, very low chromatic aberration, low flare. It's just outstanding, and while you pay for that in weight and size, it's just utterly phenomenal.

Quick shot of my son wide open:

And a 100% extreme corner crop of a test shot wide open to see what I mean about cross frame sharpness wide open:

Had a great afternoon with my favorite song bird. They are not so common in our yard during the winter like in the spring or summer. They stopped by for some suet and some water from the pond which is mainly frozen now.

This is a rare for BC species from Europe/Asia. Never heard of this Redwing before. I'm sure it is as boring in Europe as a Robin is here but for us it is just the 4th record for BC.

I should note that the R5's Eye-AF failed miserably in this situation...I had to resort to single point focus, occasionally it got the eye but lost is so fast it was pointless.
