I love this shot!... I know it's not autumn, but it just has that chilly feel.

Nice KF, Pius. Obviously you were focused on him during blast off and I was wondering what case and other settings were you using? I'm still trying to figure out the best approach for fast moving, small birds such as swallows and swifts. Thanks!

Thanks, armd when the kingfisher was perched I had AED full auto for the launch and then I switched to case 2, with tracking / sensitivity set -1 and Acell / Decel set to zero. It tracked the KF until it went behind the rocks with no issues.
I find fully auto works best for launches, just my opinion.

A few from this morning. I continue to be wowed with the IBIS handholding a long lens. Fairly easy with something small though holding a 500 or 600 prime at lower Tv's is something else.

Here's another shot of an Eastern Screech Owl taken 10-15 minutes after sunset. Shot at 600mm f/4 1.6sec ISO 3200 and processed in ACR and Denoise AI, uncropped (take a look at the full-size version on Flickr and check out the detail on the eyes and the talons, it's unreal). I cannot get over how well this body handles low light, the noise is so fine-grained that it doesn't really impact edge detail so NR software like Denoise cleans it up extremely well. I think that this might be the best low-light camera I've used in terms of detail preserved and overall noise performance.

Some bokeh & rendering testing WO at a park with the 85 (first two) and the 50RF. Need to play some more with EFCS vs MS comparisons for effects on bokeh.

Ray I hope you meant "saddest" and not "sadist". The morons who started those fires are the sadists. My heart goes out to all of the people and animals affected by this tragedy.

Found this "stick" looking back at me in the grass. Handheld...

“Hummer” through a double-pane sliding glass door, definitely edited!

He’s trying to figure out how he can get to the “food” that’s been drawing all the hummers.
