They're still here, my neighborhood owls! While I was on vacation I lost track of them and then walked the streets in vain, with my rented 400/2.8... the day before yesterday I spotted them well after dark, and yesterday I returned to the very same spot. They made an appearance literally for a couple of minutes before disappearing into people's inner yard. Today I shall show up with a TC and tripod set up. The neighbors keep wondering who's the creep with the big white lens
Stan, I really enjoyed your Paris travelogue. You are such a great writer.

Well, I must say that came out of nowhere! I don't think that I have even thought of the abandoned website in the last decade, other than diligently paying for the domain name Thank you for your kind words. I stopped writing once we started to travel with kids. Maybe I should get back in the habit.

Good work. Those hummers love the crocosmia. Just like the ones in my yard they all seem to be molting, tattered, missing wing feathers. Drives me nuts as I have all the nice flowers blooming right now and yet the hummers aren't getting themselves made up for the occasion

Kinda glad they are missing feathers, helps hide the milc distortion...
I know the feeling been molting myself after being in Sony jail for over a week, its taking awhile to get the smell off me... ... I just have to remember never to cross 7 sea's at once...
