I hope you have the option to choose the near eye, as you do with Olympus.

I saw in one of the reviews the box on the eye would sometimes have the arrow indicating you can switch eyes. But the system was reacting so quickly as the subject was rotating that the eye-AF box was switching back and forth to the closest eye with incredible accuracy and speed. Basically once it detects both eyes on a face, it's tracking the depth data between the two and automatically switching.

That’s the same as the near-eye focus, as it should be, which is great - as I can’t think of a reason why anyone would want to focus on the eye that’s further away from the camera - wait ... unless it’s the eye of a person in the background that you want - which I guess is the reason why Olympus gives you that option.

With my "RP" it looks like there is no option (I did not find any yet). Eye AF detects and chooses automatically the eye wich is nearer to the camera.
"As good as the EOS R5 is, the R6 is significantly better value for money. My guess is that the EOS R6 will have a far greater impact on the creative market than the R5 ever will. This is primarily due to the specs and price of the camera. Sure, the R5 is clearly better in almost every regard, but many of the features are completely overkill for most people. 8K is a wonderful feature to have, but for the most part, it’s pretty inconvenient right now."
Yes, there is no arguing that the R6 is better value than the R5 ... but I guess more people are buying the R5?

Which is why you still can easily switch the face with Canon

I am (in fact, two). It’s also about having higher resolution (although I could’ve done with something like say 35mp, but 20mpix is just too tight for my line of work), a better weather sealing and more rubust body, and a better EVF.

Agree
There is nothing in the R5 makes me buy it over the R6

The way that article reads, it makes Canon seem like Stallone finally coming through in the last round of Rocky IV. for the championship.
😄
It may very well be the case
I never seen a camera track animal eye with dark fur arround the eye with low light conditions. Never thought it is possible untill seeing some Canon R6 videos.
Where I think the R5/R6 will come short is eratic BIF
I still await more credible reviews specially BIF.

Wow, I just learned that this camera really gives me 10 features to enhance my photographic skills. Yes, unbelieveable! (not the features, but the television sales show way the "moderator" is using to catch customers). Worse than a horrible car salesman. But thank you for your fathers advise, dear Rick. No, I am not your friend.

I only chose the R5 because of the higher resolution view finder (not because of the higher resolution rear LCD) and it's more rigorous weather sealing--which is really important to me given the places I travel to. However with that said, if the view finder and weather sealing specs of the R5 were in the R6 I would have gone with the R6 because of the smaller MP sensor as I do little to no cropping.
