Already been discussed in another thread. They purposely used an old 20 yr old 500V1 lens with an equally outdated 2X tc. Both of which are not supported to work perfectly on the new RF system.

They have an ax to grind and are showing just how foolish they are for all to see.

Yeah, but the cameras did insanely great under those horrible conditions.

Endless videos about E shutter. There aren’t enough about EVF and mechanical shutter.

Fro's most recent video shows the EVF and mechanical shutter (he's using an external recorder which records exactly what the EVF looks like. He's using H+ mode and mechanical shutter with the 70-200:

?t=219

If you watch the Tony N. video you will see how H frame (8 FPS?) rate in MS works. In MS H+ it seems you get a blackout free view just like in ES but a bit less smooth as it is only getting a new frame at 12FPS not at 20FPS.

Was that mechanical or electronic? Is the Atomos viewed from the EVF or LCD?

I haven't watched it yet. I'll get to it in a few hrs. Was that using the 500 V1 and 2X?

Yes 500 IS and either 1.4/2x II or III... I think they were the IIIs

That was mechanical. Electronic would have the white border around the screen. And Atomos is recording the view from the EVF, he explains it in the beginning.

Thanks. We went for a drive today. Got home and did some yard work. The better half wanted to watch a few of our shows. You miss 10 hrs and that is a lot of catching up to do which is still happening

So we have this at minute 3:42.

&feature=youtu.be&t=219

Do we trust what she said at minute 6:00 or what we see in Fro's video and what Charles Glatzer said. I don't think I'm going to vote for her at this point.

I forgot to say the subject was not moving side to side in Fro's video but the slight delay which I expect from mechanical shutter didn't seem that bad.

I trust Charles Glatzer - his experience and portfolio is very impressive - he did mention the slight stutter in mechanical shutter which is evident in Fro's video.

I agree. The only question now is side to side tracking. The R is fine burst shooting as long as you don't move it. The R5 looked pretty fast.

That takes the cake. I thought it was agreed the last thing we needed was a Canon Explorer of Light.

I just checked him out. I didn't know that. Not again. If I through any more wrenches in the works and I'll have to go to Home Depot and get a new set.

On July 9th this stood out for me. While he was part of the show apparently he is not a Canon ambassador. It is definitely in mechanical shutter. What made him react this way? It can't be from the sound of the FPS speed (which is cool) because I have feeling he would have shot with a 1DX series long before handling the R5.

From the first time I seen it I always felt it was genuine. I could be wrong. Maybe there was just some sky in that sequence.
