There is a few of the frames with some distortion but nothing like A7RIV or Z cameras produce.
Canon has ~18ms scan time vs about 60ms for those two, means a lot less rolling shutter. Disappointing Sony didn't improve the A7RIV. The new Sony A7sIII however, manages ~8ms which is impressive for a non-stacked sensor, while A9/II is ~ 6ms

At a cell phone level of 12mp, I would hardly use the word "impressive" to describe anything stills related with the A7sIII. As a stills camera, which is what we're talking about here, in 2020 that is a huge fail. Video kids should love it though, maybe.

Not sure what the Z50/7 are but the A7RIV is 33ms in APS-C mode and 50ms in FF mode. Yeah not great but you can still shoot seagulls and herons and even some wing positions of hummers (like fully stretched back) without distortion on the A7RIV. So the R5 will give even more opportunities where you won't ruin the shot with distortion. However it isn't immune to it like the A9 is so you will always have to consider the risk even if it is less risk than other cameras.

This is really poor, and it may be user error, but if not, Face Detect is a fail in my view.
At this point in the game, we have MANY reviews showing that eye af is not a fail.
I also see several frames where I can make out whiskers on the face, and eyebrows, in the 100% crops, so I am unsure what you are looking at. You have to ignore the sharpness of the IQ and rather concentrate on what exactly is in focus. If the eyes are in the focal plane, that is all eye AF can do. The rest is dependent on shutter speed and optics.

So can anyone confirm this actually works? HSD actually refreshes between images in H? When we talked about this before HSD goes grey on H+ but comes on automatically for E Shutter.

I'll have to try this out. But I just shot two soccer games this weekend with the R6, all in 12FPS (green H+ mode), and didn't have any issue keeping running subjects mostly centered in the frame.
