He's clearly excited about it and he's testing with Voigtländer VM lenses like 21/3.5, 35/1.2 II, 75/1.5 and he seems to be focusing more on the stills capabilities than cine.
I just got the FP to use as a small walk around camera with the CV 35mm 1.2. I tested AF against the S1R with the S Pro 50mm 1.4, and it's slower, but very accurate. You just have to trust it.
I'm finding it hard using it without an EVF. It's just a habit. I like it so far. The large grip is not very comfortable, either. Surprisingly the 50mm S Pro balances very well on the FP.

Love that guy! You do understand that he really only DOES "excited", but I'm stoked someone as high-profile is so jazzed about using it as a stills camera with manual lenses. Some wonderful sample images, too.
I'm still not sure what to think about it being EVF-less, with no flip-up screen at that. I suppose it wouldn't matter when zone focusing from the hip, but in just visualizing how I'd use it, I keep thinking I'd want to shoot at waist level, then bring it up to my eye for shots requiring more exact framing. The position of the hot shoe adapter makes me wonder if a simple auxiliary finder would be accurate, because it's off to the side. Maybe someone else will put one out that sits above the lens, too. Or maybe the next iteration of the camera will have an EVF. I really can't see lugging the existing version along with me, even though I'm sure (as Steve said) it's an amazing experience. Just too big and awkward.

Related- is there a way to turn off the display and just shoot blind?
Privacy screen material over the rear LCD would allow you to see (a little bit) while hiding it from everyone else. And there's always the dark tape option...

That would be cool but I couldn't even put a little OVF on the hotshoe without making the camera so much bigger (hot shoe attachment makes the camera much bigger).

Ah, got it. Could be a way to hack something if you trick the camera into thinking you're using an external monitor? I wouldn't mind shooting blind, bc I also hate feeling like ppl can see my LCD.

Is it just me that thinks how ridiculous this is when there are so many other cameras out there in this price range that this is a non issue? This is a freakin $1800 camera!!

Yeah, there's a few things that give the fp a "not ready for prime time" aura. I still want one, though. None of the other cameras out there are sooooo tinyyyyy.
I'm guessing Sigma and/or other 3rd parties will put out different grip/hotshoe attachments, I know ppl are already 3D printing stuff. My ideal would be to clone the size and shape of an M6, then stuff the fp inside it. Give it a VF, even a crude one for zone focusing, cover up the LCD.

I have them and I like this one better.. it would have been neat had they had a little EVF built onto the side of the camera or a small attachment that didn't disturb the forum factor but they don't.. So guess I gotta put up with people watching me work.

I use the FP with AF lenses, but you might want to look into a used M240 they're really coming down in price.

There's a very short list of problems in this world that can't be solved with electrical tape.
I think the 240 and M10, both of which are out of my price range are a substantial step backwards in tech compared to the fp, to be honest. Video is a huge factor for me, also.
Guess I'll have to read up on 3D printing...

Yeah in that case the S1 being a beast is out too.. So FP + 3D printer.
