We have surprisingly similar thought process on this. I could have written that
I have exactly the same set: 35/1.8, 55, Samyang 85
I have been contemplating 17-28 also but haven’t bought it yet. After lots of going back and forth I actually bought 24-105 and maybe i will wait for a wide prime (15mm) thats as small as CV 21 3.5.
Coming back to 35, its a fantastic lens and i am extremely happy with it. The images above show how nice and smooth the bokeh can be at 1.8. Superb lens.
Yeah, a few years ago, I had a Canon 6D, 24-105L, 135L, 35Lmk2, 85 1.8, and an old 70-210.
Most of my pictures were taken with the 35L, and the rest with the 135L. Something would always bug me about the 35L though, and I wasn't quite sure what.
After I switched to Sony, I picked up the 55mm. What I realized though, is that I'd rather have something in the 30-40mm range for an all around lens. And also, I understood what bugged me about the 35L. It was the 6D's focusing system. I thought I disliked the focal length, but turns out, it was the camera's focusing.
My wife also wants something wider for taking kids pictures at home. So I was thinking of swapping the 55mm for something 30-40mm plus a portrait lens (at the moment the plan is the Samyang 85mm), but then my wife goes and says that she doesn't want to actually get rid of the 55 either
At the moment, I'm waiting on a nice sale on the 35mm 1.8. (and hoping that perhaps someone will come out with a magical 35GM , be it Tamron, Sigma, or Sony, and for it to be either 35mm or 40mm (my wife doesn't want a 45mm, otherwise I would've got the Samyang 45 1.8), weigh somewhere around 400-550g, 1.4 aperture, and be fairly small. But we can all dream, right? )
A few from a walk around the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago yesterday. Took the 24 1.4, 35 1.8, 55 1.8 & Leica M240 with CV 40 1.2. The 35 saw a lot of use, continuing to be impressed by this lens. Only took a couple of shots with the Leica, though, inevitably and as is often the case, the Leica produced my favorite images.
Got mine today! It took a few days longer as it took a little bit of time to get through customs. I have only taken a few quick test shots with it so far but it seems like a nice lens.
I ordered mine from Henry's in Canada. Ended up being $643 including shipping and currency exchange. Saved roughly $150 over the US price + tax. Stupid tariffs.
I was a little worried about the warranty but the warranty card says US & Canada so I imagine it will be fine.
Thanks to everyone for the many posts. I’m getting my a92 next month and am looking for a small fast 35mm for daily silent use. Based on these posts, my skills will be the limiter and not the lens.

I have ordered from them a couple of times in the past to save money.

Amzon.es, for whatever devious reasons, is offering this lens for less than the price from even any HongKong dealer.
Should receive it in a week.
Well good luck with that. It took 2 months to get it from Amazon ES. On day of dispatching i got email update with further and further delay. Sony collects orders first through Amazon and then proceeds with another low batch. Very low price is to guarantee you order from Amazon and not other supplier. Yo get it much cheaper but have to wait very long.
If you are lucky and there are few left in stock you might get it faster. Fingers crossed

Bought mine through Henry's as well. Had a few days delay was worth the saving of $150. Henry's was great with the follow up when I a question on when it would ship. In all took about 8-10 days with US customs and USPS taking 4 days to do a 2 day service from NY/NJ customs office to Maine.

Great stuff! Images like these make me question whether or not I should keep the Sigma 35/1.2.
If I could afford to, I would certainly opt to have both for different circumstances. The images from the Sigma are really amazing but the 35/1.8 wins as a one lens solution as it is light for travel/walking around. In fact I brought this and the Tamron 28-75 on the trip and am so spoiled by the weight (and aperture) that I didn’t even use the Tamron once.
