This lens is vastly better with flare than, say, the Samyang 35 f/2.8 I had a while back. That being said, I’d keep the hood on just in case if I were you. I have noticed some instances of ghosting with this lens even with the hood on.
A few recent shots. The first is a stitched Pano from 8 images shot in portrait orientation at F8. The image is 120MP and the detail is amazing. Makes carrying a wide angle less necessary for landscapes.
Both with the FE 35mm f/1.8! I have a new appreciation for this lens and actually really like it, maybe even more so than the 24GM purely due to 35mm being my favorite focal length.
