Thanks for explaining your process, Joshua. I've wanted to try and do the stacking technique to simulate the use of filters. Are you saying that you combined the approx 36 frames AND the handheld exposure from the different camera or just the 36 frames?

Thank you, Jake! The camera/lens combo that I used to take the 36 exposures to simulate the Smooth Reflection App was on a tripod. The other camera that used to take the 2-second exposure of the crushing waves, was rested on the railing. In other words, I had two bodies and two lenses with me and I took the 2-second exposure while the other camera was taking the multiple exposures.

Are you planning on posting the 36 exposure stack. I would be quite interested in seeing how that came out (assuming it worked to your satisfaction).

I did already, Michael, but I couldn’t post it here since I used the Sigma 14-24mm for that. I posted it on that big Sony FE thread some 2 weeks ago, I believe.
I did a few on that trip. Maybe I can put them together and start a separate thread with a title of something like “Fake SRA thread” or so .
A great example of why the length of this lens is so killer in the field...when you need the length, it's invaluable, and if you have a tripod, f4 is no biggie! This was out at Crater Lake, this is at 105mm on a tripod.

The Causeway usually sees ~300,000 people crossing it daily for work and school, but has stood empty for about 2 weeks now due to travel restrictions imposed by the countries on either side.
