@ChrisMak... I am not sure that it is the lens/body combination that is making the difference here. There are many talented photographers using the Nikon 600mm E w/ DSLRs or MILCs, Canon 600mm III w/ DSLRs or MILCs, and Sony 600G w/ MILCs.
However, it seems that many of the bird photographers on FM have made a switch to the Sony system because of the A9/A9II's black-out free and AFc experience. If these two features are critical to you, then Sony is the only game in town with non-adapted glass.
On the other hand, if you are content with the DSLR experience, then the Canon 1DxIII w/ 600mm mkIII would an outstanding piece of kit, as would a D5 or D6 w/ a 600mm E lens.
Like many Nikon nature shooters who are trying to embrace the transition to mirrorless, the pull of Sony is tough to resist. The relative affordability of the A9 (and even A9II) paired with a 200-600mm lens that has an internal zoom continues to draw my attention. Furthermore, Canon has introduced their 100-500L, and while a bit slow for my taste, it appears to be a real winner as well.
While Nikon has a lot of good looking glass on the drawing board (100-400S, 200-600, 600mm f/?, and 400mm f/?), they remain vaporware until one can actually buy something!

Actually, I ám content with the dslr experience, even though I am always open to and curious about new technologies. Main reason for this is the OVF experience in outdoors light. If the Nikon 600E had been the weight of the Sony and Canon 600mm lenses, then I would have had no second thought and added it to the 500PF for use on the D500. But the extra kg weight for the 600E is just a no-go, (almost a kg with hood) as I do a lot of hiking and never use a tripod. My background is years of use of the 3,1 kg Pentax DA560mm f5.6 lens. I wanted better AF and BIF capability, so I sold it for the Canon 400DOII with converters. That has been a bumpy ride, and I ended up selling it for the Nikon 500PF, meaning to add a 600PF down the road. But as you know, the lens that you really want never seems to materialize, or pops up with another brand
Getting to grips with a 13000,- investment in a single lens, I have decided that it should be my final lens purchase. I like longer focal lengths, 600mm is my favorite. Since the Nikon option is too heavy, why not embrace mirrorless after all? I will keep the D500+500PF for BIF on hikes where light weight is really appreciated. Besides, I would regret selling the 500PF at a later stage, I am sure, it is a great lens, and the D500 a great body. I think Nikon will complete the Z line up, but the Sony 600GM is the near perfect 600mm f4 going by images and reviews posted. You have to make plans somewhere, and should the Nikon Z600/4 pop up in 2021 and be spectacular, and have the same gracefull IQ of the Sony 600GM, then who knows. For now, I will be looking out for the A9III. Main thing is getting away from the "TC for reach" approach, which brought me little good. Not meaning that I will never use a TC with a 600mm/4 lens, but it has to be an "add-on", not a means of getting to my favorite default focal length. Also, the light where I live is sub-optimal at least half of the year, and F4 will be a blessing in that regard as well.
