This bird picked a berry that was bigger than its beak. It didn't want to let go the berry but it couldn't swallow it. Well, eating berry is not its specialty to begin with. It hopped around from branch to branch seemingly forever and finally it dropped it and flew away.
Finally, a different falcon species here... This bat falcon was perching far away. Starting out with a bare lens, I added the 1.4X TC first. I took a few shots and then I took the camera down to install the 2X TC but right after I did, it took off... It dove down away from my position and the take off shots would have been not that great anyway or otherwise, I would have been more upset 😜.
Yes, the new GM 300mm f/2.8 has garnered a lot of attention and interest. However, the "old" but trusty GM 600mm still delivers in gobs, especially if reach is needed.

Great, iconic (at least, in my opinion) image from Bosque, Hatch! I wonder how birds-eye AF works on this image 😜😂...
about the birds-eye AF, It was all over the place just trying to get anything in focus. I shot a large burst of images with the hopes a few would be sharp. The A1 did me proud, I had a few to chose from. Glad you liked the shot, love shooting at Bosque, I'm headed there next month...should be fun.
