Thank you again, Joshua. Yes, at Conowingo the eagle actions can be pretty far away sometimes, with 1.4 TC on the 200-600, I may still need to crop a big chunk of the images away. The A7RIV's 61 does come in handy. Like I said, a big problem I had yesterday was keeping the eagles in the desired postilion in the frame. I got a lot of images with eagles clipped or near the edge of the frame even though they were in focus. I am planning to go back there again on Friday, and exclusively shoot the A7RIV, in FF mode, so i will have more leeway to get the composition I prefer in post. BTW, the California Sony 600mm GM contingent are leaving Conowingo today to fly back to California. These are some dedicated birders! I heard Mark Smith (the youtube birder, a great guy) is shooting at Conowingo now.

I do not shoot in the crop mode but crop in PP later on. Well, you saw my post somewhere else. Unless the birds are close, the chance of your clipping their wings is less .
The California Sony 600mm GM contingent, huh? I wonder who they are? Are they from Southern California or more California in general? I know a lot of folks in the southern part of the State. I will be staying/shooting locally for now. Maybe, not quite sure, depending on the availability of the vaccines and the Covid-19 situation, we may go to Bosque del Apache next year in January/February. A lot of things are still up in the air as of right now.

I know only one of them, the famous Alex. I met Troy at Conowingo last year too.

Alex is using a 400mm GM right now. Probably, Vince and John were there then, they both use the 600mm GM and the same as Troy but Troy wasn’t there this year this year. Anyway, I will bump into them locally before too long, I would say. The last time we converged on a spot was when we were shooting white-tailed kites. Everybody came out to that one .

I believe Alex brought the A7RVi, A9II, 400 GM and 600 GM with him, I met a guy with long hair from San Diego, didn't get his name though.

Thank you, Laslo! I am sure you will get some good shots, just not at the same rate as the a9 or a92, but it’s a trade off between 61 PM, excellent AF, 10 FPS, and 24 PM, best AF, blackout free and 20 FPS. Hope Sony will come up with the Sony version of the canon R5 soon, at a not too crazy price.
Wonderful work at the dam Douglas. Def. living through your lens this year. We have the time, the money, some kit but not the nerve to deal with the possible unrest we might encounter en route. So please keep posting the wonderful shots for us to enjoy.

Thank you Robert! I hope they won't close the park again! When I went the last three times, I was on the rocks by the fishing pier, at least 6'-8' from anyone near me.
