Look at Lens Version on the camera.

How do we tell if the TZE-01 has been updated? Are there instructions for updating? It seems to work fine as is. what does updating bring?

The Lens Version on the camera will tell you the TZE firmware number. It’s the only way to really tell other than running the updates and I haven’t tried the Techart Updater yet so not even sure it’s there. I haven’t heard of anyone being on anything other than 1.00.

How does the lens version figure in to this. I am talking about updating the firmware on the TZE-01 adapter. What am I missing here.

Used the Loxia 35 & 85 mostly today for the parade. Loving the combo.
The focus aid, especially with the focus point changing red to green, is awesome for shooting moving targets. I need to get a better feel for the “speed” of focus but I don’t know if I would have tried this with a Sony camera and Loxia lenses. Peaking isn’t accurate enough and magnify makes framing too slow.

That’s very nice photos. Loxia lens are very nice and expensive. I am more into Voigtlander lens. My adapter still stuck with Canada Custom for 4 days now. Still have no info yet.

Thanks. Admittedly a 40/1.2 is very high on my list as well. Great glass coming from Cosina. Sorry to hear yours is still stuck. It’s a good bit of kit, you’ll like it when it comes in!

Lots more shots here of the Loxia in use. Finally getting to cull and review on a computer and even more impressed with how well it did.

Yea, I'm sometimes tempted by the siren song of the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 and still may, but not at the expense of the Loxia. Not technically perfect by any stretch but the output speaks for itself.
I do like the output even better on Nikon cameras. Sony is probably more accurate, but Nikon seems to have the right saturation and contrast to just make these lenses pop. Handling is frankly better as well, very happy I didn't get the Kipon dumb adapter, the chipped MF experience is awesome especially for dynamic situations.

You’re making me miss my Loxia 21. Those colors, tones and rendering always look great. Cool to see how well they do on the Z cameras.

Thanks Sung. The Z keeps getting better and better honestly. The Loxia are easier to use on Nikon than on Sony, wouldn't have tried to shoot the parade anyway with MF lenses on any of the Sony bodies. I didn't love the A7III and I spent 6 months with it before going back to an A7RII. It's been about a month and a half with the Z6 and I'm happy as can be, couldn't see switching back.

Mathieu,
Is the TZE mechanically ok or do you feel some play in the Z mount or in the E lens?
Did you switch from 85 to 35 in the field or do you have 2 adapters always mounted to the loxias?
I'm a bit skeptical about the resistance over time of the adapter with only 2mm tickness
Thanks

Feels good so far, especially with the rubber gasket on the Loxia, very snug, in a good way. Mounted the 18-135 though and felt normal. No grittiness or slack I noticed. And did multiple swaps, no issues taking lenses on or off, actually easier when mounted to the body.

I just received my TZE-01 adapter last week. I went to update the firmware using the USB Updater utility (on a Mac) and kept getting the "No Device Found" message (translated from Chinese) immediately after clicking the update button. I kept getting the message even though I tried doing the update with two different computers and two different USB cables. So then I was wondering if (1) the firmware was already up-to-date so and the message I was getting back was just a generic response or (2) I have a bad adapter. So, next, I checked the firmware on my Z7 and the adapter is listed as "1.0" so I guess my first conclusion was correct. BTW, for those of you who are interested in checking for yourselves, the firmware version will be listed under "MA" for "Mount Adapter". It will likely be the last entry on the screen, with the "C" being the first.
Just thought I'd share my experience in case anyone else is confused by the lack of feedback in the firmware updating process.

One nice thing I discovered about TZE-01, that with TZE-01, my Nikon Z6 finally does not do AUTOCROP that you cannot unselect, when using crop lenses. I mounted Sony 10-18F4 E lens (for non-Sony owners, this lens covers full frame circle without any vignetting from about 13 to 16mm) on Z6, and it is in full frame, no crop. Unlike any DX Nikon lens you attempt to mount via FTZ adapter which crops immediately.
