Looks really good to me! Cheap lens? Hmmm, but not a 'cheap' mind behind the camera.
Thanks for saying so! I did my best to extract every bit of quality out of the lens and camera. I certainly can't justify an expensive telephoto for the rare occasion I'd actually use it!
A true test for checking the DR of a camera is shooting a bird with bright white and deep dark feathers.
I think this Eurasian magpie came out rather well. Shot with a Z7 (FW 3.0) with AF-S 500mm f/4 E FL glass. I had to shoot at f4 to keep shutter speed acceptable at ISO3200.
One I thought I posted back in December 2018, but musn't have as I can't find it on any threads on the Z7 or Z cameras or 400 f2.8 either. Another of the photos I was going through and retouching as we all sit at home through the Corona Virus.

Even if you did that one is worth a repost! The better-half was walking by when I was admiring this shot Lance and said 'how come your pictures don't look like that" !!!

Very very nice, Bruce!! Love what that lens can do.
Me too... the 14-30 and 24-70 make for a great One-Two punch when it comes to landscape photography. I would love get my hands on the new 70-200, as that would be the perfect addition to what I am using in the field.
