Thank you! The first image might not show it well, but it was quite windy, which creates this strange haze over the dune side most visible on the right.
We've had quite a long spell of windy afternoons, which at least is strong enough to completely clear the dunes of all tracks, so it's a new canvas almost every day
In this short time with my grandfathers Leica lenses, I've tried to use the Summicron-M 50 Collapsible, and while its a rather tricky lens to use at times, it does have its moments of beauty.
One way to describe its stopped down character is rather quite gentle. High amounts of detail but in a low contrast image. It gets particularly interesting in high contrast backlit situations.

How cool is that shooting lens from your grandfather. The little Leica lens has soul I am kidding, I am not the one believe gear can make good photo but I won't deny handling of such lovely small Leica glass in field is special.

Thank you, and yes, we are privileged to live in a beautiful country. These dunes are practically at my doorstep, not 500 meters from our home.
Yes, the Summicron 50 collapsible has that proverbial glow and soul. Hard to quantify, and it certainly doesn't make it easy to use at times.
I'm not going to deny that gear can make for better images... certain gear can provide such inspiration that it will transform a person. If my AF-S 28mm f/1.4 E weren't so good and practical for commercial work I would sell it. It's a great lens, but it just does little to inspire me and I wouldn't miss it if it were gone. Same for the AFS 14-24.
I'm close to selling the bulk of my Nikon kit and just simply moving to a Leica Monochrom. I got a taste for it in 2014 when I brought one but had to return it due to various issues. But I just haven't stopped regretting that decision. But I think the Z6ii will stay... the D850 and D810 will probably go.

Details! First 2 shots made me think they were shot probably at f 1.8 or even at f2.........I could not resist, so went to your flickr to check. They are shot at 1.2 !! Incredible rendering, this lens. Great capture of the moment of selfie shot.
Yeah I remember some early discussions on the 50 1.2 thread saying that the Canon's sharper and that the Nikon was soft wide open. I either got a good copy or the one shooting it didn't shoot it right or something because the Z lens is no slouch wide open.
