Yesterday I grabbed my 400 2.8E took our dog outside and messed around with the focus settings. On auto AF when you enable subject tracking, it rarely misses. Really impressed how the box dances around following whatever you initially focused on. When I got back on the pc to look at the files, out of 20, all 20 were where the focus first acquired. Pretty remarkable in my book and I have used all of the Nikon top DSLRs.

This is different to the last shot I posted a week back as I am using the 14-24 f2.8S at 14mm and the NiSi filter system. 6 stop ND and Polarizer, tripod.

Did you also handle the original Z6? I'm asking because I'd like to get some feedback how the AF differs between the two and if I should upgrade my current Z6.

Yes, the lag is a bit annoying. But I overcame that by pressing the AF button before putting it to my eye. Fantastic frame.

I was out looking for turkeys on this Thanksgiving day, but "only" found deer. All from the Z6II and my 200-400mm f/4 VR... RAW EXIF was changed so that I could process the images in camera RAW.

Captured this sunset at the Salt River near Phoenix, Arizona.
Nikon Z7 - 14-30mm f/4S, at f/8, ISO 64, 15 seconds. It was a focus stack of about 6 different shots with the same exposure settings.
