Is it me or someone else finds those OOF "stripes" in the water in the upper half a bit annoying?

These are out of focus natural ripples in the water and I do not find them particularly annoying myself. Only a relatively small amount of post processing was performed. What would you have me do?

It wasn't a negative critique, I was noting those (for me) a bit disturbing ripples, that I see also in some of my photos with 100-400, and I saw them on the launch reviews of 400GM. I was asking myself if it's a characteristic of Sony lenses, because I don't remember seeing this on other supertelephoto lenses of other brands. But if you don't find them disturbing, maybe it's just me

"Scaring up some dinner"

Most of my recent images have been from Orlando Wetlands. Unfortunately, they closed the gates there Monday, so this if from last week.

Personally, I think the Reddish Egret is the best looking of all the Herons, with a close second for the Tricolored Heron and Little Blue Heron when they are in mating colors. This photo doesn't really show off the colors like some others I have, but I like the pose.

10 star Dave. Really enjoy admiring this one. 1 owl equals a 100 eagles!

Walk around the gate eh
I've 'snuck' into the Smokies when the Covidiots shut it down. You don't seem the timid type to me Kim!

I was going to do exactly that down at the National Seashore at the end of the road here, in New Smyrna Beach (but, to bike on the park roads, not for photography).
Unfortunately, they had an armed National Guard person that road up in a 4x4 just as I was considering lifting my bike over the gate
Couldn't convince him that I was not going to pick up or transmit the virus by riding my bike...
It's actually my wife that usually convinces me to do these things - and I always get caught! Becoming more of a law-abiding citizen every day

Thanks Robert.

I've heard from others that she was out of the nest yesterday.
I'll have to check it out and hopefully see some bobble heads bouncing around in there.

A small group of us compare notes through a chat line on Facebook.
We know where 3 great horned owl nests are, 2 barred owl nests, and maybe a screech owl nest.

If we can get out, it may be a good spring for photos.

Really nice, Stefano. How do you decide which lens to carry?
