Took the camera with me while walking my (a bit disobedient) dog. One hand attached to a leash and the dog..

Bald eagles aren't common in the San Francisco Bay Area. But for the last few years, a pair has been living in Milpitas and another in Fremont (by the Alameda Creek Trail beside Quarry Lakes). Here are a few from this morning. All shot with the A7RIV + FE 100-400mm + 1.4x TC. Some were shot in APS-C mode.

The 100-400GM is just a much better lens than 70-300G, even with the TC.

Photo cross posted in the Sony FE Image thread and taken yesterday at 10:55 AM.

Looking at a (small?) portion of the flock of Snow Geese that had taken off. I would estimate that thousands of Snow Geese had congregated beyond the retention ponds behind our home and onto the flooded land on both sides of the creek on the other side of the retention ponds (on the one side farmers fields were flooded).
Tripod mounted 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G set to 600mm and A7rIII camera; silent shutter.
ISO 1250, f9, 1/640 second.
Exposure corrected +0.24 Stops.

Taken out my Kitchen sliding door, Breinigsville, PA.

Orlando Wetlands this morning.

They are starting to get their mating feathers! I had to include a crop, it was too good to pass up.
FYI: The bokeh is SOOC.

Photo cross posted in the Sony FE Image thread and taken at 12:16 PM.

Looking at 2 American White Ibises from behind. The Ibis in the front is standing on one leg and the bills of both birds show how translucent they are in the sunlight.
Cropped, supported hand held out car window 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G set to 576mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.
ISO 400, f6.3, 1/1250 second.
Exposure corrected +0.71 Stops.

My first "Eagle catching fish" shot.

I have been hesitating putting this up because it was such a big crop. The Eagle was a long distance away. We heard the Coots and ducks going crazy, looked up to see if there was an Eagle in the air, spotted it and started shooting.

Although, not a great shot, the A7Riv proved up to the task, considering the distance and the amount of clutter behind the bird.

Glad you put them up. Well done.

In my experience, the 100-400mm + 2x TC works reasonably well on the A7R4 with good light. Not BIF well (or perhaps with better technique that would work too), but at least as well the bare Canon 100-400 II via a MB or Sigma adapter. In poor light it does struggle somewhat.

Here are a few from today, all shot in APS-C mode.
