A couple of the more mature bucks were helping the younger one with his training.
I haven't seen any real fights this year ... yet. I did have one of larger bucks charge me, that was fun.
a7RIII, 100-400.
They're in a park, used to people.
It was probably more of a false charge, he stopped 40 feet away, stomping the ground.
Then he caught wind of a doe, and off he went.
Here he was stomping the ground.
He and I are buds when the rut is off. I throw him an apple every now and then.
I've been using the A9, 100-400mm and 2x TC intensively and with good light and a decent number of pixels on the bird the results aren't bad at all.
I tried the 200-600mm & 1.4 TC and the results of my copies were too soft for my liking.
Western Whistler, Western Australia (formerly Golden Whistler)
I hadn't tried this lens on this camera before today, I'm pretty happy with it.
Although many of my shots were near misses for focus, that issue is with where this nest is located, and all the junk around it.
