I really love shooting at the Woodbury High School baseball infield. Slides into any of the bases can create Sahara-grade sandstorms worthy of a Headline News report. ("A search is underway in Minnesota for a high school student lost in a dust devil while stealing second base.") Runners who slide head first sometimes return to the dugout looking like coal miners at the end of a long shift. Good fun for photographers and a business boost for laundromats. Baserunner opinions may differ.

Sadly, Woodbury has no laundromats. They are getting an auto parts storethough, so barriers are breaking down slowly. Baby steps...

The autoparts store will probably offer only Benz, Bimmer and Audi parts, though.

Last nice bloom on my star magnolia:

Z6, kit zoom @ 70mm, f/16 for DOF, cropped to the square. This took some care in Gimp to boost whites without blowing out texture. Once again, this lens show no lateral color by some Nikon wizardry: those white edges present an Olympian challenge.

I'm not usually a high ISO shooter, but the Z6 definitely performs (these are both at ISO 8000 with the 70-200 f/4)......

Looks like a happy pooch! I haven't mounted any of my FX Nikkors but the 70-200/4 is always on my short list. Also, the rig is water-resistant rig when one topples into a cold stream.

i dont think i can love the 24-70 2.8S more than i do. its soooo sharp and the focus accuracy is second to none. In my best Ferris Bueller voice "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

I've been doing my best to see what I can do with some BIF action. While it's certainly no D500 or 850, I am beginning to get a few acceptable results with tracking.

These were shot with a 500PF using AF-C & Wide (S). As long as I can keep the box on target, once "locked on", it is doing better. I also bumped the "Focus Tracking with Locked On" up to 4.
