The Fuji MF one? (I mean the 110mm f/2 for the GFX)

Maybe someone just stole 15mm from the old APO-Lanthar to cook the new wide Skopar.

Not that I’m aware of. As noted above, Voigtlander does seem to produce some odd focal lengths.
I’m guessing it results from a compromise between desired optical qualities/IQ, manufacturability, and cost - and maybe a desire to be "different"?

I'm extremely interested in this lens myself. It slots longer than my 85 Loxia and shorter than my 135 Rokinon and CV 180.

Shamelessly, so am I. I'm particularly interested in seeing how it renders compared to the 100 makro-planar. Other than purple fringing, the latter is gorgeous, but I wonder whether it will be worth keeping both (due to rendering differences, disregarding the 1/2 stop difference) in view of the Voigtlander's APO quality and 1:1 capability. I guess we'll find out when someone posts comparison compositions from both.

I have a feeling the CV 110 macro-lanthar will replace your Zeiss 100 makro-planar.
...just based on the CV 65/2's performance.

Are you talking Sony specific? Doesn't Fuji make a 110mm for the GFX system?

That's right! GF 110/2...so, Cosina is not alone here.

Well, if we're talking about other formats, yes there have been others. Fuji made interesting lenses for the GX680 series, including 65, 80 and 135, just to name a few. Back to 110, I used to have a glorious Schneider 110XL for large format, which covered 5x7 with ease and could even squeak by on 8x10 without movements.

OMG.. I originally thought it was a 'wish they make it' lens, like the Loxia 28, wow! Will have to grab the 110/2.5. Now will they do a 200mm APO Lanthar? Lol.

It's interesting that the CV 110/2.5's filter thread is 58mm vs the CV 65/2's is 67mm. The former is half stop slower in comparison.

It’s mystefying.

As f 2.5 110 is like an f1.6 65mm lens in terms of absolute aperture, so you would expect it to have a bigger front element. And yet as you say it’s smaller, and the whole lens is only a tiny bit bigger. I hope it’s not because of a comrpromise in quality relative to the 65. Or maybe I’m fine with that it it would otherwise have been much larger,...depends on how big the compromise is, if any....

The 65 needs extra room for the focus helicoid. The front element is deeply recessed and has a much smaller diameter than 67mm. The number one thing I don't like about the 65 is that it is so large and heavy, and still doesn't do 1:1 macro. I would have prefered a smaller lens with "close focus" ability.

Yes and Zeiss made a very well regarded 110 f/2 for the Hasselblad V system too. Of course Nikon has pretty much always made 105mm lenses for FF 35mm, and Sigma just made a behemoth one, so this isn't all that different. It is not like the previous CV 125 was such a classic focal length. I like that they chose 110mm. It ought to work quite well for my needs.

These big lenses look like 1960s. One thing that makes me prefer the Loxias is their sexy look 😃

I agree. Looks like we are in the minority here! Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the CV lenses with their strange focal lengths don't interest me in the least. Granted, I've never owned one, and these things are VERY personal. Ok everyone else...back to the celebration. 😉 I'll go back to waiting patiently for my new Batis 135/2.8!

I am sure it will test well and specs look solid, and CV has been on a tear of releasing killer lenses. I wondering how the Bokeh will be on the 110 compared to the 125. The CV 125 has some of the best Bokeh I’ve ever seen.

Anyone here who has compared the 125 to the Zeiss 100 MP? I've heard that, even ignoring the latter's purple fringing, the 125 was the superior of the two.

Way to go Cosina! There look so much more interesting and keeping with the ideal size for the A7 platform.

Sigma announcement looks weaker and lazier by the minute after seeing these.
