I almost went for CV 40+65, and still may one day. But the 110 looks irresistible to me. As soon as I see pics from capable hands, like Guy's, I'll decide. Guy saying that he isn't getting one is just his trying to discourage others from joining the line and getting theirs ahead of him. Nice ploy, Guy, but no cigar!
great call but I do love my Batis 135 and the 110 is just to close. Im looking to go the Loxia 85 right now and sell my CV 65 APO. Having the 40 I may want that little extra gap. And heel you all been singing its praises too.

These big lenses look like 1960s. One thing that makes me prefer the Loxias is their sexy look 😃
These modern optics need modern look guys
I'll massively disagree. Yes, they look retro...but clean retro. I also much prefer the haptics of the Voigtlander lenses to the Loxias...the front aperture ring is easier to change, and the focus ring feels better - the larger knurling is a better grip (especially with gloves).

+1 re: handling of Voigtlander vs Loxia ... for me the reason are: aperture ring, focusing ring damping, ease of mounting/removal.
I do not have anything longer then my 65 so the 110 is interesting. I do not take long focal length images so would have to learn some composition techniques to make this a worthwhile purchase.
If the 21 is similar to the Loxia in IQ but handles like my 40 and 65, I may have to switch

Fred, you truly are a drug dealer
These are both very exciting. So much more so for me than the recent unveiling of the Sigma armada.
I cannot wait to read another 70+ pages on the 110.
Thanks!

I'm with you on the awesome look of the Voigtlanders. I recognize that this is a very personal viewpoint and that there is no right and wrong. I tried a Loxia and returned it - nice optics, but very fiddly for me. My favorite lens to 'operate' is an old Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.7 with a knurled focus ring like the CVs. Ordering my 40/1.2 this week.

It's interesting that the CV 110/2.5's filter thread is 58mm vs the CV 65/2's is 67mm. The former is half stop slower in comparison.

Wow, what a great time to be in the Sony ecosystem! Tons of great lenses coming to market.
I'm gonna be broke...lol

I like the front aperture rings too, but unfortunately the new 110 has a rear aperture ring. It looks a lot easier to find than the Loxia ones, however.

AARGH .. love the ring in the front. The ring does appear to follow their typical design including a raised ring and significant knurling to make it tactically easy to find and move the ring.

Haven't noticed it until now. Thanks for pointing it out Steve!

Shorter focal length means wider angle of view, which would be part of the explanation. The entrance pupil is only 65/2 = 32.5 mm though, so the filter could probably have been smaller.
-----------
I must admit that both of these lenses seem interesting, even to me. I suppose the 110 will be too large though. And I don't shoot closeups... The 21 would make a nice kit with the 40.

I'm interested (very) in both! Loving the CV65 (rendering 😍 and love to own the CV40 too. Have the Batis 18 and maybe the CV21 would be too close? But I'm tempted 😎 CV110 would be a nice hop from my FE85. Could get seriously broke at this rate 🤣 ...Maybe divorced too 😜

Hey Scott, I'm just getting the 40/1.2. is there any where you have posted shots from your CV65? Thanks!
