Hmm, I can also use this for Zeiss 50/2 makro-planar, 50/1.4 ZE planar, Voigt 40/1.2, and Voigt 35/1.4 Nokton Classic, and all are conveniently 58mm threads. Ordered.

BTW: I asked CameraQuest this morning and received this reply:

"Sorry, no further info at this time on 110 & 21 ETA, or plans for a 50/1.2 FE"

I folded and bought back the Sony 90 macro. My Batis 135 actually gaps better with my MF kit than the 110 would, and I was nervous about the extension of the 110 and especially the non-reversible hood.

My MF kit is now:

Laowa 15
Loxia 21
Loxia 25
CV 40
CV 65
Loxia 85
Batis 135 or Sony 100-400

You should consider the Marumi +5 200 Achromatic Close up Lens (67mm thread). I get better IQ than using extension tubes and it will give 1:1 capability to the CV 65/2. It's even sharp wide open!

Just a note to others considering this filter: the 65/2 actually takes 67mm filters, not 58mm. The 58 that I ordered arrived today...surprise! I guess I'll keep it since I can use it for other lenses, but I'll need to get a 67 for the 65/2.

My bad Danny! I meant to write 67mm for the CV 65/2.
58mm is for the CV 40/1.2. My apologies.

I've edited my previous post to avoid more confusion.
Best,
Fred

@Fred Miranda or others: what type of case are you using for the Marumi? Mine arrived; I'd rather have something less flimsy than the little case that it's in, and it looks too thick for a standard B+W filter case. I ended up buying a 72mm so I can use it with my Milvus 35, and with a step-up ring for the 67mm threaded lenses. Thanks.

Up to now, I have both of my marumi+3 (55mm+77mm) in the package they deliver it. I like to have the plastic hardcover, then the small plastic bag and all that in the case. But I'm with you, this way the lens stays clean but it would be nice to have a case with a better protection.
For the Leica Elpro3 I have a hard case. But it's a vintage one and I'm looking forward if someone has a good product to recommend.

Nokishita says that 21/3.5 will be announced / become available for pre-orders from 9/19!

Very interesting if it happens. Nokishita has not been wrong with their rumors before...

Announcing more lenses with no clear guidance on production for lenses they've already announced, but not delivered, is slightly annoying. So you can pre-order the 21/3.5.......how many months are you going to have to wait for delivery?

This 21/3.5 is one of the lenses they already pre-announced at CP+ and didn't yet deliver so if they make it available for pre-orders tomorrow they'll also announce the expected release timing at the same time. Normally when they make new lenses a available for pre-orders in Japan the release date will be at most 1-2 months ahead so I'm guessing it would be available in October or at the latest November, probably coming out earlier than 110/2.5 in that case.

I know 110/2.5 got a release target (August) back in June and was made available for pre-orders and then got pushed back, I've had it on pre-order since 6/20 myself too. I think it was an unusual situation as I haven't seen them doing such release target delays after announcement with any of their earlier releases. I guess they might have run into some technical issue with that one, or some material shortage...

I hope it doesn't turn out to be the 6+ month wait I had when I pre-ordered the Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 ZE.

I know I just need to be patient, but the longer the wait the more I wonder what the hold up is. (Especially if the 21 starts shipping soon.)

Got my eye on the 21mm. It looks to be very small. Might be a great travel lens. My guess 799.00

If this is almost as good as the Loxia 21 and priced at $799, I may pick up a used one for $650 next year. I have the Loxia 21 but never use it at f2.8, hate to pay for F2.8 both in price and weight/size when I don't need it.

Yeah, I'm also a bit wondering about the status of 110/2.5 since there's still no new release date information and both 50/1.2 VM and now possibly also the 21/3.5 seem to be getting ahead of it. Initially when those 3 were pre-announced I was actually most keen on the 21mm so personally I wouldn't mind too much if it came out earlier but I'm still eager to get the 110mm as well. I'm still hopeful of getting both within this year.

Yeah, no way I'm pre-ordering after seeing what happened with the 110 pre-orders.

If Cameraquest has info when the actual shipment is arriving, sure. But not looking to have $ tied up indefinitely.

Me too. As long as it's pretty good wide open and excellent at f/5.6 I'm in,
Love the Lox 21, but rarely use f/2.8 when on travel and the size/weight, through OK, can sometimes be an issue when really trying to travel lightly.

Hope the sun-stars at f/5.6 - f/8 are great as well as having little flare/ghosting issues. I'd be in a $800.

Thanks for your comments. I looked through things today, and found that the clear (hard plastic) Canon cases for their similar filters (250D and 500D) fit the Marumi filters and give better protection. I have one for a 77mm Canon 500D, which is a perfect fit for Marumi 72mm + 67-72mm step-up ring. I also have one for a 58mm Canon 250D, which isn't perfect because the Marumi is thicker, but it's adequate. I rarely use either of these Canon filters, so I simply switched boxes and the Canon versions fit nicely into the soft Marumi cases.

Voigtlander is notorious for increasing their prices after lenses are released. Pre-ordering is the best way to protect yourself from price hikes when you are buying the lens anyways. This happened with the CV 10, CV 12, CV 40/1.2 and CV 50/1.2 VM lenses. (That I know of)

This price-hiking seems to be somehow specific to U.S. market (possibly also some other markets outside of Japan) and seems to happen more often in cases where initial prices have been considerably cheaper in U.S. compared to Japan. In Japan I've never seen the official prices go up after release and street prices are typically around 15%-20% lower than official price at launch. Later on street prices may go down slowly based on price competition between different sellers...

In Japan we can pre-order from many different suppliers without any upfront payment which makes it less troublesome if there are unexpected release date postponements. I usually pre-order/pre-book (typically from Map Camera) to make sure I can get it from the initial shipment as quite often these new lenses get sold out right away (I suppose initial shipments are typically quite limited in volume) and next shipment might come a month later.
