Cosina hasn't announced any new release date yet... My personal quess is sometime October since they are now rolling out 50/1.2 VM from 9/13 and they usually have at least 1 month gaps between lens release dates.
Maybe CameraQuest and Robert White UK & other distributors have some insider info...
Stephen Gandy from CameraQuest told me a week or two ago that he was expecting the CV110 release in two months or so. He also said "Cosina designers told me the 110 is better than the legendary 125! "

Ah, so this will end up being my Christmas present to myself by the time it arrives!

Me too. I'm anxious to compare it to the Zeiss 100/2 MP. The latter is great except for the severe purple fringing in some situations. I expect that the Voigt will have next-to-nothing in the latter, and it's also nice that it goes 1:1. The real comparison that I want to see will be in rendering, which is lovely in the Zeiss.

I want excellent infinity performance and excellent flare/ghosting characteristics for landscapes, then excellent close-up performance for candid portraits, kind of like my 135/2 APO Zeiss (which doesn't have the best flare/ghosting characteristics), but in a much smaller and lighter package. If it works like the 65/2 does at near/far and flare/ghosting I'll be very very happy.

Going to be difficult to have beautiful rendering like the Zeiss with so much correction. But I think CV knows its customer base and is going to deliver the best possible rendering in a lens with such high IQ.

As long as it is extremely well corrected at infinity (or far-ish distances) and under-corrected for great rendering at close-in distances. I can live with non-optimal bokeh at infinity distances

Lox 21/2.8
Sony 35/2.8
CV 65/2 APO
CV 110/2.5 APO
CV 180/4 APO
is a very good working landscape set for me, with the Sony being the weakest of the bunch. Waiting for a better 35mm native E mount (and no the 35/2 Lox is not it) that's excellent for landscape work.

I have the CV15, Loxia 21, CV 40, CV 65 .. really like the CV lenses. disappointed my Breakthrough CPL does not fit on the CV15 ... might have to remove the petal hood as some have done.

Yes, forgot about my CV15, not my sharpest lens, but certainly love the color, contrast, and sun-stars!

For me, the competition will be the Sony 90. I believe it has better IQ than the CV 125. It is the only S/Zony lens that has really satisfied me. Exceptional for macro and very good at longer distances. I will be surprised if there is enough improvement to make up for the lack of IF, no weather sealing, and the extra weight.

Yeah, for me I never use the "macro" capabilities of these CV lenses - I'm a short tele candid portrait and long distance landscape guy with wide open performance (or slightly stopped down) very important.
I need to rent the Sony 90 some time . . . though I have the 85/1.8 Sony, 85/4 ZM, and 90/3.5 SL-II CV, so 85-90mm is kind of full up for me . .

I loved my Sony 90 macro - it was my most used lens in the first two years after switching to Sony. It's an incredible macro lens and a very good short tele. When I got my CV 65/2, I found two things:
1) 1:2 macro is enough for 95% of my macro needs
2) That true MF at macro distances, at least Voigtlander's version of it, is much smoother and easier to use than the (very good) FBW MF implemented on the Sony 90 macro
I have the Batis 85/1.8 and much prefer it to the 90 macro for everything except macro - smaller, richer colors, faster, a tiny bit sharper at mid and longer distances. So I sold the 90 macro and pre-ordered the CV 110. The CV 110 will give me 1:1 macro and will fill a focal length void in my MF kit.
Still... I miss the Sony 90 macro. Really a spectacular lens.

90 has a great drawing style. The look is really delicate and soft but actually very sharp pixel-peeped. Its like 35/1.4 from whatever i have seen from that lens.
I want my next focal length to be at least 110 .. have considered the Batis 135 but willing to wait for the CV to see how good it is. I had the Batis 25 and 85 but prefer the CV for MF. I rarely need auto focus and when I do, I use my 24-105

You should consider the Marumi +5 200 Achromatic Close up Lens (67mm thread). I get better IQ than using extension tubes and it will give 1:1 capability to the CV 65/2. It's even sharp wide open!

I will actually compare the CV 65/2 + Marumi +5 (1:1 Macro) to the CV 110/2.5 native 1:1 Macro. I'm curious to see the difference because the former already yields amazing results.

I agree, especially for the price. I was surprised by much better it performs compared to using extension tubes. (Which was already great)
IMO, the Marumi +5 is must have companion for the CV 65/2 APO Macro.
