p.17 #3 · Pre-order: Voigtlander 110/2.5 Macro APO for $1,099
Voigtländer 65/2 is £749 at Robert White and this 110/2.5 is stated to be £849 at the same store (both including VAT). U.S. price for 65/2 seems to be now $999 so I think 110/2.5 would not be as cheap as $899. I'd guess it would be at least $100 more than 65/2. Anyway, I guess we'll see the prices soon enough. I wouldn't mind paying around 120000 JPY for it myself.

Their new lenses have been backordered = price increase.
21mm...40mm...65mm...110mm... = The gapping seems to say we're getting a 28mm.
They have made the 28/1.9 and 28/2, that were good, for rangefinders, but the CV 28/2.8 to for DSLRs was poor, so I hope they could nail it with a 28/2 for Sony FE.

The 110/2.5 E Macro APO sure looks interesting. But for me the FE 90 Macro is so, so good already. IMO even handles very well in MF mode. I really like the way I can push/pull the FE 90 between AF and MF so easily and not sure there are many other macros out there that are sharper than the FE 90.

Yeah, I'm with you. The Sony 90 is a gem of a lens, and on the Mark III bodies, AF is so much better than on the II bodies, so it's really useful with AF, even in the macro range, though the MF feel is also really good. LBJ2 wrote:

The 90/2.8 has so good colour correction, that an apochromatically corrected lens isn't as important as it once was. When I was into Nikon, I had the Nikon 105/2.8 VR and the Zeiss 100/2 macro, which both had LoCA in spades.
Another lens that is also well colour corrected is the Sony 70-200/4.

I guess I just surprised myself this time. Due to my experience with the FE 90, for once I am not even interested in the latest greatest macro or alternatives. Not that I am not super happy about the latest crop of Voigtländer Emount lenses to include this new macro which looks to have already generated a lot of interest. Thanks to companies like Voigtländer, the Emount lens system is really filling out very nicely with some remarkable glass choices. I am sure there will be some very interesting compare reviews between the two lenses once the 110/2.5 is out in the wild.

I'm expecting it to be really good - most likely surpassing the Zeiss 100/2 makro-planar. I hope the bokeh and overall rendering isn't all that different, or I'll end up wanting to keep both. I really don't need to do that...

I’m probably gonna pre order this. I would be shocked if it wasn’t absolutely stunning. Can probably double as a portrait lens wide open to
I want to use it like I do with the 65/2 - excellent landscape lens and an excellent portrait lens.
So hopefully it can do double duty for those uses.

I like love my 90 macro it is my most used or liked lens in my portfolio.
I am hoping the 110 with a little more reach and being a half stop faster will produce even better bokeh than my 90 or be similar isolation when stopped down a stop or stop or two when I want a little more DOF on a flower.
I also find the 90 macro somewhat cold and sterile when I use it as a regular med telephoto but not at all for closeups or macros.
I Like the extra reach of the 100STF over my 85GM so I am looking for similar results over my 90 macro with the 110.
The 90 is as sharp as they come so if the 110 can equal or exceed it with better rendering in the normal mode I will like it a lot. Be difficult to pick when one to use at times possibly, I guess if it blows the 90 away case solved but that is a tall order.
I would like to see a 180 APO macro from Sony or Voigtlander or Zeiss also.

I think I may be in the minority here, but I have minimal interest in lenses longer than 50mm. Just grabbed a Contax G90, which will see about 5% mount time on the camera, no matter how amazing it is.
BRING ON MORE WIDES!!
ps- Ultron 28/2 in E mount next, if Mr. K reads this forum. And keep the focus tab!

Very likely to be 800+g. After getting the Sony 90 I will likely stick with it. Lighter, smaller, good IQ, AF with a very useful focus hold (or whatever) button and decent manual focus.
