I see one important reason why the new one could or should be heavier. The old 125/2.5 has some plastic parts inside, and could have had better mechanical quality. This translates into the new lens being a heavier lens, as I see it. The 65/2 weighs 635 grams and only goes to 1:2 magnification, compared to 1:1, i.e. life size, for the old 125/2.5.
Edit: The Zeiss Milvus 100/2 weighs 843 grams (ZE) and 807 grams (ZF.2) and only goes down to 1:2 magnification. I think that the Voigtländer 110/2.5 should weigh about as much.

Thanks! Not much news about 21mm but a guy from Robert White (UK distributor for CV lenses) was commenting in SAR post that it will be released late 2018 or early 2019 which sounds realistic. I would guess it to be released either in November-December or in February at the latest. Looking forward to it as well.

I guess the 110/2.5 would be around 800g based on trying it out at CP+ where I compared the weight of the demo unit to my CV 65/2, just based on feeling holding them in hand side by side. If it becomes available for pre-orders tomorrow in Japan as the rumor stated, we should get to know the specs at that time.
771 g. Will start shipping in August (specific date not given yet) so will take a bit longer than I expected. MRSP is 148000 JPY.

We still have no idea as to how the CV will compare with the Leica 100mm Apo-Macro-Elmarit. I will pobably keep mine along with the Elpro !:2 to 1:1 for the Apo-Macro-Elmarit. As it is, I have 2 Novoflex Leica R to NEX adapters for usage with a number of R lenses as well as the Leica R 1.4X and 2X Apo extenders and a number of different Leica R extension tubes. So, if push comes to shove, I can use the 100mm Apo-Macro-Elmarit with the Elpro, the 2X Apo extender, the 1.4X apo extender with one of the Leica R extension tubes as well as with the Sony 1.4X teleconverter.

I agree that the 110 is still an unknown, however the specs look good and Voigtlander have a great track record at the moment.
I did test the 65 against the Leica macro as I was surprised how good the 65 was, so I'm hoping that the 110 will follow suit.
From my point of view though, lens adapters and lack of exif is so tiresome. Been there done it and want to move on, the native lens lineup has improved considerably and I want to be native.
I don't currently own any other Leica R lenses although I have in the past, but with my E mount lineup I dont feel the need to go down that route any more.

I agree except for longer telephoto. There is no replacement in the Sony lineup (other than a slower zoom) for a 180/2.8 or 280/4 and the Leica R lenses in these lengths ("apo" versions) are of high quality tho obviously manual focus and not very light.

The aperture ring looks troublesome. Most Voigtlanders have it on the front of the lens. The 110 has a skinny one near the lens mount. Looks like a Loxia 21 aperture ring, but on a larger, bulbous, and heavier lens.
