A very Happy New Year to all my fellow FMers
I came back with so many different types of pictures from CR, that is really very difficult choosing what to process and what to post. Supreet helped me get over my fear/aversion to the portrait orientation of my shots, vs the landscape layout. Thanks Supreet

1- The elusive and the quintessential Resplendent Quetzal

2- Long Tongued Bats

3- Red Eyed Tree frog - hanging on for it's life...

4- Yellow naped parrot

5- Ferruginous pygmy owl its a tiny bird, I think similar to the burrowing owls of US

6- Eyelash pit viper - green variety

7- Long tailed Silky Fly catcher (thanks Greg for the correction)

8- 2 hummers - Fiery throated and Violet eared - not sure about the ID -help

18 - Green Kingfisher - colors of the Indian, Bulgarian, Kuwait and many other flags.

19 -Red Eyed Tree frog - with eggs

20 - Orange Fronted parrakeet

21 - Helmeted Iguana

23- Blue throated toucanet

24- Talamanca hummer

27 -King Vulture

28 -a mistimed shot, maybe an abstract - hope you like it.

29 -Upside down Keel billed toucan

30- Hoffman's woodpecker

33- Collared aracari - if you remember the cartoon strip spy vs spy, reminds me of it

34 -red macaws in love

35 - Quetzal again

36 - really long tongued bat

37 - Preening osprey

38_ Scintillant hummer (I think)

39- white winged dove - far away - tried artsy type of pic :)

40_ neo tropical bird snake

Only 40? You did not break Comrades record KD. Superb set with huge variety and creative compositions. I bet you wish you were back in the tropics rather than frozen NYC.

Incredible set, KD. I voted! What a productive trip it turned out for you. My picks are the 1st Quetzal image, Red-eyed Tree Frog with eggs, and the Glass Frog (not Grass Frog) hanging out.

Absolutely fabulous set, KD! The Quetzal in #1 is to die for. The red-eyed Tree frog and the Bay-headed tanager are also superb, not that the others aren't fantastic themselves

Great KD. Of all the images the keel billed toucan is the standout for me with the BG and rain. It should grace a wall somewhere.

Nice shots. You have good quality work, so there's no need to be apprehensive about posting.

I'll be heading down there in less than two weeks and will be visiting a couple of the places you show in your images.

I hope to get some looks at the Bay-headed Tanager and the Quetzal.

You could of put up a 5 picture post for 8 weeks in a row and win FTOW every week because I feel all your photos here are exquisite, beautiful, excellent, finely detailed, admirable, charming, delicious, elegant, lovely, meticulous, perfect, polished, precise, splendid, striking, and superb.

I just keep scrolling up and down admiring them over and over again - WOW, I mean Wooooow!
