jut in case it hasn't been thrown out. If anyone is interested in hosting a model photography day for FM'ers, I wouldn't mind donating my lights to be used at the event. My studio is a home studio and wouldn't host people well, but if someone is willing to host with decent space I wouldn't mind bringing my lights.

I'd be interested in a model shoot, but I've seen what most of you guys look like and I'm pretty sure none of us would qualify for a "model"

Where can we get some models from?
I know some people, but also I would mind throwing in a little money to hire a pro model and do sort of a workshop type situation. Would be great for atlanta photographers.
I've got plenty of space in what used to be our studio before we outgrew it. No lights but the cyc wall is still in place. Weekends and nights are good. Its easy to get to and across from Stone Mountain Park.
Sounds like we have lights, studio and a possibly a few models. Lets try to get this set up. I don't mind throwing in some cash to hire a model if we need to.
Most of you haven't seen me...I'm definitely model material....haha don't I wish!!!! I'm no model, but I would be interested in doing a model shoot, cause I definitely want some studio and lighting experience so I can be ahead of the class when we get to that point in school!!!! I do have a friend that used to model and probably still would if she were like an inch taller, I could possibly talk her into modeling!
Great, I contacted a few models I know and hopefully I will hear from them soon. They are 5'11'' model types, so they should be able to fit most any shoot type we need.
Mkoink, I sent you a pm about your studio space.
If we can get past the first block, this should be very very interesting.
Count me in too fellas. I dont know when the plan to do this is, but who ever is setting this up make sure to over book models. They will flake out in a NY minute. I am supposed to be shooting one right now, but I am on the net. So make sure that an over load of models are invited, just to get 3 or 4 to show up. I have done several types of these shoots before and they go over well.
Get networking and normally done as TFCD shoots. it would be a good plan try to get a head count and try to equal it out with model/photog. A Sunday afternoon would be a good time.
Chris, I'm a bit uneasy with your suggestion to overbook models. Isn't their time valuable to them? If all invited show up, do you intend to pay all of them, even though just one may be necessary?
if it's a tfp situation there's a good chance it's 50/50 on show up, no loss no gain.
I were to invite them and market to them saying "Hello, I'm getting a workshop together with a group of fellow atlanta photographer, and this would be a great oppurtunity for you to network and expand your portfolio" then more then likely we don't have to worry about paying.
Problem is without money, there isn't something cohesive to solidify the contract for them to appear.
Talking to mkoink we threw up a date of either November 12th being the earliest date, if not then sometime early december to be between the major holidays.
Wow guys, I can say from the background that we have something potentially huge coming up. I've gotten in contact with parties interested and I can tell you now this is sounding great.
I'm passing a form to some fm members now that contacted me intially and look to make that form available to other members soon. It puts in detail the meeting and I can promise you guys now you are gonna love it.
I've contacted talent I know and they are highly interested, so right now the first major step is to solidify a date.
