I have the same lens, on a Fotasy adapter. There are several that are slightly different in their approach to the iris adjustment. More of a personal preference, IME.
I opened up and greased mine and it's been very good.
v6 was released to address a hunting issue caused by changes in the autofocus algorithms for the A7(R)3 cameras. I have both A7R2 and A7R3 bodies and my tests indicated that v6 offers no advantages over v5 for the A7R2.
I just got my TAP and it has the latest firmware, i use it on my Sony A7ii (fw 4.0) and even tho it seems the adapter doesn't support EYE-AF, i came across a video of it working with the A9, is it possible to get EYE-AF to work on my A7ii body or does anyone know if there's a custom firmware ?

I finally tried the Techart adapter and I really like it. I mainly use Zeiss contax lenses, but my C / Y - LM converter has not arrived yet. So I could try the other M42 lenses and a Zeiss Contax transformed into an EOS.
The bottom of mine Techart is written by L.J.P. It came with firmware update 6.0
I would like to recommend a cheap and good alternative to Canon-Leica adapter please add to the list "FOTOMIX EOS-LM
I used to use techart adapter on Sony A7R2n with firmware v5. It worked fine. Recently I had sony A9 and updated firmware to v6. Now when I shoot A9 continuously for 5-6 photos, F2 aperture looks like lost and screen only shows F--. Then screen blacks out for a minute or two. sometimes, focus setting is switched to MF automatically. This is really annoying. Anyone has similar issue?
Hi,
are there different versions of the TAP on the market?
Intend to buy one, but I am not sure if I should get a second hand one for half price or a new one that might be the latest hardware version.
Will use it for adapting 7artisans glass on A7ii
Advice is needed.
Kind regards from Germany.

Hi!
According to my knowledge there is only one hardware version of the adapter. Only the firmware has been updated.
After my second Techart Pro adapter faced a sudden death just outdside the one year warranty period I got a Fotodiox Pro Pronto instead. It is a direct copy of the TAP but Pronto is much cheaper (250usd vs 375 usd), Photodiox offers a working customer service and a two year warranty.
