Heartbreaking news and a great loss! I always enjoyed Michael's passion and unwillingness to compromise in photography. My condolences to his family and friends.
Dave
MR and his site were something special to photography. Not just him, but the people he attracted to write for his site (and I presume go on his workshops too) really gave a important complementary perspective to what so much of the online photography forum/blog world is. I'll really miss his writing, but I'm glad to see that he's over time transitioned LL to be more than just him and that it should continue in the same spirit for some time.
Sad news but he has truly left a legacy for all of us and I think left behind a little bit of himself in photographers the world over.
He was passionate about all aspects of photography from capture to print. He had the ability to explain things thoroughly, patiently. And he made a lot of friends.
The photography community has lost one of it's premium knowledge contributors……..
Thanks to Michael Reichmann for his commitment, passion and what must have been countless hours of learning new equipment & technics using excellent writing and communication skills to share his learned insights with all of us.
So sorry to hear this. He was one of the greats in digital when I first made the leap to the eos D30 back in 2002. LL was one of the first and best sites that I found when I made the switch and such a wealth of info that he freely gifted us all with. Thanks for all you did MR. You will live on in the work of those of us whom you inspired.
So sad, indeed, LL was inspiring and one of the few sites I've - and I'm sure many others - frequented from the beginnings of digital. He provided a service few others even care to attempt let alone accomplish. I will miss him though I've never met him in person.
