We are very sad to report the death of Michael Reichmann, founder of Luminous Landscape.
FM and Luminous Landscape were founded around the same time and Michael was a personal friend.
Together we lived through the transition from film to digital and had a lot of fun in the process.
My condolences to his family.
Very sad. I met Michael once when he had a small retail space in Toronto. He was a gentleman in person and online. One of his prints (non-digital!) hangs in the lobby of my business. R.I.P.
i will always remember the great interview with Oscar Peterson.

It is a sad day for all of us in the photography community who have followed Michael Reichman over the years and who have benefitted from his work as shared on that site.
Oh my gosh that's such sad news! I've visited LL for years and years and I always respected their reviews and looked to them for technical information. I've taken away quite a lot from their site / community in the last decade and I will be forever grateful.
Though I never had the opportunity to meet or interact directly with Michael, his passion for his craft came through in his work and what he shared on his site.
My deepest condolences and sympathies to his family and friends, may he rest in peace.
Sad news indeed! I got a lot of great information off that site, especially when researching older lenses and gear, reading his older reviews and tests. Great stuff and a tremendous accomplishment for Michael. RIP.
Heartbreaking. Michael's love of photography was matched only by his generosity. Expertise, kindness and enthusiasm illuminated his every post. His passing is no doubt as huge a loss to his family and friends as to the worldwide photographic community he informed and inspired. My heart goes out to all who knew him and his work.
