Did you check with the seller if this is from the second run of lenses? It seems the first run had a lot of bad lenses and the second run seems to be significantly better.
Interesting. Terrific if true. Any evidence to point to? TIA.

Oh, hmm I didn't no :/ Fingers crossed it's from the second run. Will post samples when I receive it.
Some people seem to have gone through 3 or even more copies before hitting a keeper, mmm.

Steven at CameraQuest told me the factor made some changes to address some issues. My copy which I just got a week or two ago looks pretty good.

Seems like good news. Though happy with my 15/4.5-III VM version (very nice corners) I would like to swap it out for the E mount version so I can have EXIF and automatics IBIS focal length recognition.
As soon as the E mount becomes available I'll be making the swap assuming the corners are consistently decent.

Well. I get all that with the TechArt adapter in addition to AF by initially taking one shot at F/11 with IBIS ON, Auto.

What is the latest on the alleged second batch/version of this lens? I would like to get one but an not eager to enter a lottery for a good one.
If you look a page or two back I posted samples from mine which I bought from CameraQuest a few weeks ago. Also posted a few shots in the FE image thread if you want to check them out. I am very happy with it, seems to be sharp across the frame.
What I don't know is the anyone has gotten a bad copy out of this second batch. When I spoke to Steven at CameraQuest before I purchased mine he informed me that he only had one exchange as of my puchase out of the second batch. That sounds like better odds than playing the lottery.

We have not seen the volume of comments on bad copies this time like happened in the spring. I got a good one from the new batch a few weeks ago. Glad to have it as it is a great lens.
Give it a try, but test it. At f/5.6 it would be reasonably sharp in corners and not smeared on distant focus landscape images.

I'm in. I just ordered from Amazon specifying Camera Quest as the provider. Fingers crossed.
Watch out with Amazon. I bought an "authentic" Arduino board specifically from an Arduino-authorized seller and Amazon filled the order with a counterfeit board from an unauthorized seller. I don't trust them at all.

Does anyone know where the serial numbers start for the 2nd batch ? I've decided to get the V 15mm and Loxia 21mm instead of the 16-35.
The Loxia isn't a problem but E-mount V 15mm may be (here in Shanghai). Are there any pros/cons to using the M version (easily found here) with the Voigt close-focus adapter instead of the E-mount version ?

I realize that he selected CameraQuest as the vendor to fulfill the order. As I stated in my post, I also selected a specific retailer to fulfill my order. Amazon does not necessarily follow that protocol. Instead, Amazon selects another vendor if it will fulfill the order faster. It's a bait and switch. In my instance, I paid more for the "authorized" version from a specific authorized dealer, and Amazon disregarded these choices.
