Has anyone tried these apps during a night in a city with a scene where cars would make light trails. Will the app leave caps between the shots or are the trails continuous?
That's a good question. If you decide to give it a try, let us know how it works out.
Best,
Fred
The app keeps crashing on my RX1rii... Have you heard of that happening to anyone? I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app, no dice. All of the other apps work.
I used the app on the RX1RII for a couple test shots and it didn't crash. I cannot test it extensively right now because my RX1RII is being replaced by Sony.
Perhaps you are using a camera setting that is not compatible with the App. (or it could be a bug on the app)
Try reseting the camera to default settings and try again.
I've just come across this thread, great info, and thanks!
I thought I might confirm that I've just successfully installed the app on my A7rII, via my laptop running Windows 10, Chrome browser, with the Sony-supplied USB cable attached to the camera.
Unlike the experience reported by others earlier in the thread, the app downloaded and installed to the camera, seemingly without incident.
Haven't tried it yet, however I can open and configure the app, so I presume it will work. Looking forward to trying it out.
using the nex6. just downloaded the app and am kind of a newbie. how would I know how many stops to use and whether to expose for 3 sec like the beautiful picture above, or choose A mode and let the camera decide?
I'm going to Bruges next week and would like to bring back some nice pix with the canals. First and probably last time there. It's a vacation with family, so I can't be out on a bridge all day for 1 shot, ya know??
some guidance on how to think out how to set the camera and # of stops would be helpful. thank you
