Spent the weekend in New York City and used the 35 f1.8 a fair amount on Saturday, mostly for street shooting. Here are a few of those and one of breakfast. Pretty nice multi-purpose lens...
Surprising, given that people were on a few different focal planes. I would have been afraid to shoot at 1.8, b/c I have had bad luck with the thin DOF and people. But nice job.
Separate question -- were you using a bit of flash here?

I was not using any external artificial light. Not even reflectors.
They were ALMOST in the shade, that's why you see natty light comin from the left.

I just switched back to Nikon and currently looking for a 35mm lens for my D750, and looking at the pictures here makes me lean toward this lens.
I read somewhere (in a review) that this lens is good, but not at wide open. I thought what good is an f/1.8 lens if I can't use it at f/1.8? But after I looked at the pictures here (esp Elijah's, Jason Brooks')...which were shot wide open...hmmm, the review is not quite right. Those pictures at wide open are good.

Too many pixelpeepers here who are probably very anal about wide open sharpness. Also, they might own high MP bodies (750, 800, 810) and it will be less sharp to them because of high MP. My D3s shots are very sharp wide open!
