I've been playing with C1, too, and I've been culling in C1. I like importing, culling and deleting a lot more in C1 than in Lightroom. I'm on a Mac, if that matters.
In C1 importing is much faster, it's easier to make subfolders (the way I like to do it) and you just press Cmd + Delete to move files to a Catalog Trash collection.
The way I see it, LR is the more-elegant program but C1 is a MUCH better raw converter.
