Wuwho, love the work with your rescue group. I don't have any dogs of my own either, as it wouldn't be fair to them right now since I'm a nursing student... my cats can at least keep each other entertained.
Managed to reset, and re-fine tune my 85 1.8G -- pics seem to be a little better. Granted there isn't any harsh lighting, so the fringing is at a minimum which makes it much sharper...
