Finally got a D700 after staying with DX for a long time. I have 85mm 1.8G, but I can't stop using the old plastic 50mm 1.8D. I am getting attached to this little cheap lens!

It's nice when a 50 is a 50. I have the 50/1.8AF (the one before the D) and really like it on my D700. Has a bit of back-focus, but I should be able to dial that in.

Got one too. It's very sweet on the D700. In fact it's one sweet little lens in all the bodies I use. Lovely capture of a lovely dog.
Just a question for all the D700 users, I have mine set to AF-C with AF-On focus only.
When I change from single to dynamic with 9 points, does the other points show up on the viewfinder as well?
I only see the viewfinder showing the 1 single point like the top left rather than the looking like the top right in the picture

Only the single point is shown. I think that's the way it's supposed to be.
