1/50 at 300mm is remarkably good, is it the VR version of the statue-technique?
well, the first 2 images are actually with the 1.4 tc attached so it's 420mm but this is the older 300mm F4, so no VR.
wonder what those guys would do if i fired off a flash in their eyes to get more lighting? shot me with a missle?

I love my D700, but a new hen is coming to live in the house. Found incredible deal on boxed d3 in EX condition and less than 7k shots.

My buddy works there so I know for fact this D3 has 35,514 shutter clicks! Great price
You'll love the D3. Bought mine 2 years ago, looking like the one in that picture and with just under 41k shutter actuations on it. I paid $1550 for it.
I fired shutter actuation 73921 yesterday and just found out that the D3 needs a minor repair. The Ai indexing tab on the lens mount appears to have gathered some dust and only moves in slow motion.
I will get that fixed because for me, the D3 does everything I want a camera to do and more.
Great thread. I just picked up a mint D3 with 62k clicks for around USD 900, including accessories, to be used partly as a backup tool. My eldest daughter (15 years old) is also using it for sports shooting (horses). I like the speed of the camera overall and especially the reliable autofocus. ND3 by Buddy Ebsen, on Flickr
I believe USD 900-1,100 (or around that number) is the going rate these days (in northern Europe). Only thing is to get a good copy of the D700/D3. Meaning not too abused (low or well taken care of milage). I did have to clean the sensor rather thoroughly though.
Thanks for the comment regarding the photo tkchen. :-) Just a first quick shot. Didn't even adjust camera and copyright settings. I know who the previous owner was. :-)
Any way. This camera stays... not in the bag, but out shooting like is was meant to. I will probably be the last owner. :-)
The first one is 50mm 1.8G and the second one is 24-120mm f4. You can not compare them directly as too many settings are different. Also they are not processed 100% identical. Maybe it will give you an idea though.
