I got to page 10 of this thread before having to turn in.

Seeing all these shots makes me regret having sold my 300 2.8 Nikkors.

These shots�all of them, are outstanding. Some are off the map! And the quality of the shots taken with the 300 2.8 with the new TC 2.0E III are stunning! Who would think that they could be that sharp?

I just got the D810 and the images don't seem as sharp as my old D300 when using 300 2.8. Do any of you see an issue or is it just my expectations ?

Okay folks, 3/4 of these images are going to have to be removed. We all know that tc's, especially the 20elll degrade IQ to the point where images are unusable.

Here's one with my old AF-I and 2x.

Kevin, your shot of the mongolian horses is gorgeous ! Please don't take this the wrong way, cuz it is obviously very well done technically, but it's an image like this that keeps me thinking that all this talk of sharpness is highly over-rated . I think some of us are so caught up in chasing that elusive IQ that we ignore what makes a beautiful photograph.
