More than happy with my D4, see really no reason to go to a D4s unless something tragic happens.

Personally, if I was a D4 owner when the D4s came out, I'd be 1. annoyed, 2. wanting the new one because the D4 is hardly any better at anything than the D3s.

Dude…you don't own a D4 but you believe it's "hardly any better at anything than the D3s"?

When the D4 first came out I only had one of them (along with a couple D3s, a D3S and a D3X). After several weeks it got to the point where I really disliked picking up and using the D3-series bodies and I ended up ditching them all for a couple more D4s (and later a D800E for video).

You're kinda right, not any one thing was hugely better…it's just that EVERYTHING was at least a little bit better, and AF and image quality were significantly better.

The D4S, however, is a bigger jump than the D3-->D3S…there is every reason for anyone to want this new camera.

Ha ha ha…

With less than ten posts since 2002 maybe I should just defer to forum veterans like Form with well over 3000. I'm sure he has much more to say about the D4S than I do…

when I got my 1Ds I was annoyed. DOA (3wks turn around new body) cps no spare equivalent available
when I got my 1D2 I was annoyed. just an underwhelming camera.
when I got my 1Ds2 I was annoyed afer a short time. imager failure 1.5 months into using. (6wks turnaround and lost trip to AU/NZ) cps no spare available
when I got my 1D3 I was annoyed. the AF system that couldn't (replaced body after 6 months of round robin)

now all work was carried out under warranty. just considerable use time was lost

lots of bleeding edge promise with lots of bleeding. the only good thing was canon was a 30 minute drive from home and at the time I was CPS
(before it became an annoying multilevel pay for club)

good cameras I used from canon
XTi
40D
G10, G12

since 2009 I have only returned 2 items to Nikon service
D3- for the buffer upgrade right after purchase
SB700- for zoom failure (warranty sort of)

the SB900 issue (yeah that annoyed me somewhat). but I have since moved away from Nikon for my
primary portable artificial light
the D800 issue. never cared for the camera just a little too much compromise for me. mob driven.

yep, I get annoyed, just not as much at Nikon "so far".

Everyone's experiences are different.

In my case, Canon products have only ever tended to fail if I dropped them (or overworked one flash). Most of my service results from them have been good, with a few exceptions.

I haven't tried Nikon's service, but at least 80% of the camera bodies I have bought of theirs (all D800s) have had AF focus issues. To-date, my second D800 was the only one that did not...and it got sold to a very happy buyer.

Then why make statements about cameras you have never owned or shot? I could go on the Canon forum and rip all their cameras just because I prefer MY brand of camera. What do I add to any of their discussions?
